You're still better off buying the toyota matrix as it includes ac, an option on the vibe.

True, I do like GM's 100000 mile warranty. But toyota also has three years zero percent interest financing on the matrix. I considered buying one, but incentives only going to get better, and I want a diesel if possible and the 2009 accord is going diesel, and the vw diesels should be out this summer.

Matrix has better resale, Vibe is a darling of the rental fleets.

Plus, the Matrix "just feels better" to drive and driving perception is a huge factor. The Vibe feels harsh and sounds grainy.

They are the same engine, tranny, chassis, most sheet metal, interior, seats, tires, wheels, suspension, etc. saying the vibe feels worse is pure bias.

The Matrix offers more NVH controls than the Vibe. Go drive them and check out instrumented NVH results and you'll see the difference. The Vibe has more pitch whine and radiation noise.
