My family drives 3 Toyota's and I feel safe. I am not disputing the SUA situation. Although certain posters will not want to hear it, these SUA problems affect almost all makes/models, even the good old USA companies. I am not an Asian lover as I have been called, or a traitor, unlike most of the people that post here, I am a realist and can look at things objectively.
I have read the complaints about SUA and all that jive, but I have seen 35-40 complaints on the NHTSA site of SUA involving just the Ford F150 (2007-2009), I seem to remember that VW recalled a lot of Jetta's after 40-50 complaints (on the NHTSA site for just the 2009 model) of trannies that acted as if they were in neutral. People were merging into highway traffic and stepped on the pedal and nothing. Just as dangerous as SUA, but all you read about is Toyota SUA or Toyota Corollas and Matrixs stalling.
Why? Because Toyota is in the spotlight. The driver in San Diego was in a Toyota. Had it been a Ford or VW those companies would be all over the news about their problems. But the media will not do much of a report on the F150 SUA problems or VW's tranny problems, whY? Because it's not good news. No one died in such a tragic way. And face it, America loves to feel sympathetic to poor people who were tragically killed, blah blah.
Toyota in the pickle barrel so any slip the make will be splashed all around.
Guess what...the media has been quite lately about Pro Wrestlers dying young, but since Eddie Fatu (Umaga) passed away, now the WWE will be under scrutiny again. There will be numerous stories about wrestlers dying young.
Funny thing about the media is they will leave out important facts such as a couple were killed in auto accidents, or drug overdoses, or in falls, or cancer, basically stuff that has nothing to do with wrestling..but that isn't good storytelling. So they'll exagerrate the deaths and leave out a few details to make it a good story.
That's the media and I find it funny that people fall for that crap. Don't believe 1/2 of what you see or hear and the other half is pure BS.
