Tables turned on Toyota

"Ford, along with GM, now makes some of the best cars on the road."
You keep telling yourself that. Have a little hope and change on the side, while you're at it, too.

There is a MAJOR difference between the problems with the brakes and throttle and the problems shown in American cars. These new problems are most definitely design issues, not manufacturing issues. Toyota seems to have lost its control over designing in quality. And these problems are more due to meeting environmental issues than quality control. After all, the only reason to have the brake pedal go through an electronic system before actually reaching the brakes is to satisfy an "environmetalist issue". Don't get me wrong - I think the idea of having a gas engine provide backup power for an electronic engine is great. But having an electrical braking system based on a decellerating motor as the primary brakes backed up by discs is just plain stupid. Even 18-wheelers using "jake-brakes" use them as backups, not primaries.
