I think the reference with Ford,Chevy Dodge is about trucks and not cars.I dont agree Toyota is a POS, Toyota always made a quality long lasting truck, but they are jumping into something they arent accustom to as of yet.Full size vehicles.

Toyota quality has deminished abit and the big 3 are getting better, and Toyota has some questionable service as well as the big 3.

Toyota will never pass the big 3 in trucks sales, well not in the near future.

Yes. Comparing a 3.5L V6 to a 5.7L V8 is stupid. But then again, if you would care to talk speed, what about a Dodge Ram SRT10? Got quicker 0-60? How about the Harley Davidson edition Ford F-150 with a 5.4L supercharged V8. I dont think that a Toyota has the speed or class of those trucks. And what about a Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel? Also I do not think that a Toyotas frames are as durable as American truck frames. Seems to me Toyotas are more for economical outlooks rather than being used for work like they are supposed to. Have you ever seen many Toyotas on construction sites? Im sorry but I havent. I see big Dodge, Ford, and Chevy duallys that can carry and pull decent amounts of weight unlike Toyotas. Im sorry but if Toyota stuck with economical cars, I would give them a little more credit. I think they have no game in the truck industry. And then again, they is why Chevrolet won truck of the year award.
Who taught you how to speak english? I thought you were a true patriot?

The Tacoma sucks, they better change it since it is losing more and more sales each month. Buy Ford and say a good American job.

Agree with the previous statement from blk. Drum brakes? Come on already Toyota. The fact that rear disc brakes are not factory standard or an option is the single reason that is holding me back from purchasing a Tacoma. I believe disc brakes were first introduced in 1966. I can think of a few vehicles that had factory front and rear disc brakes in 1987. We are approaching 2008 and the Tacoma does not even offer rear disc brakes as an option.
That is just disgusting. If factory four wheel disc brakes are not available on the 2008 Tacoma standard or an option…Toyota just lost a customer.
Be glad the brakes are drum in back. I work in Forestry in Canada and have driven chev's mostly. Discs are stupid in the bush (on the back). The calipers fill up with mud and the inside pad sticks (doesn't float) and wears out. This is one on the reasons I was excited about the Tacoma. I have put 74,000 km on my 2007 Tacoma (1/2 bush) and still have lots of brake left. To boot, the brakes work awesome.

I like to think Toyota was smart when it came to this.

Respecfully,
brett

07 Tacoma 4wd off road... Thinking of going from stock 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 Toyo M/T with stock wheel size. I have a 2" lift up front, add a leaf in rear. Think this size will clear mudflaps and have no rubbing issues?
