Anyone know if Toyota its planning to change dramatically the exterior of the Tacoma with the Tacoma 2008 at mid 2007?

I'm thinking of buying a Toyota Tacoma extended cab, but I want Electronic Stability Control. The current models require an expensive add-on. Does anyone have any insight on whether the 2008 model will have ESC as a standard?

this is the only forum that I've found that I can respond to some of these dumbass whacko enviornmen talist that ask the question why would anyone buy a 4door tacoma longbed when they have so much steel and weight and lack of manueverabily and God help us POWER. Maybe we like to haul things, you know pickup=haulthings. And get a great driving experience also.

What the hell is an enviornmen talist? Hauling things and preserving the environment are not mutually exclusive.

Here's a suggestion, lose the plastic bed!!!

I've got a 96 Tacoma, love it, and will probably hang on to it.... maybe forever!! It's the right balance. 20 years ago trucks were boxy and small. Today, they're too rounded, and almost too big. Example: The long bed 4 door Tacoma covers more real estate than a Chevy Suburban. Some of us guys like small trucks because they are small!

Dear Toyota!
Please revert back to a small 4x4 pickup that actually gets good mileage and is comfortable. You used to do this. Warm interior colors, tans, browns, etc and ammenities in the cab.

Toyota sales people I talk to suspect the new Tacoma will have to be the same size. It just can't get any bigger or else it will compete with the very large Tundra. Maybe that's why the Ford Ranger (a real dog) is still the number one selling small pickup...because it is small compared to its big brother the F150. Even GM's Canyon and Colorado pickups are fairly compact compared to the new Silverado and Sierra. Check out the April magazines and the new Toyota Tundra came in 3/5...with Chevy rated number one!

Would only trade my 06, 4x4 sport for a v8 model. it would have to have some serious grunt to justify the bucks, though. dont feel the 4.7 is mean enough.
Would love to see a suspension thats more easily modifiable. particularly the front. Definately needs stronger breaks. I'd say make the new 5.7 an option. my taco weighs 4000 pounds. Thats no light truck. theres plenty of room .otherwise the truck rocks. At least make some swap kits. ill never lose mine until they do. its too good a truck. theres a weak spot in my heart for torque, though.

I wonder if Toyota or any other manufactured of medium pickups will offer the locking trunk in the bed like the Ridgeline.
I think that this is an excellent feature by Honda and I'm surprised that no one else has gone to it.
Also, I am not in the market for a new vehicle till the end of the year, so a 2008 is what I will buy. Does anyone know roughly when the announcements for 2008 features will come out? Considering that its only 4 months till they arrive, i would have hoped to have heard something by now.

I almost ordered an 07 with ESC,'till a friendly sales person suggested I wait a month or three and find out what standard and optional features will be on the 08s. I'd pay extra for the ESC (hate the rear end of my Ranger sliding around) but I haven't had anyone verify that it's effective enough to be worth the $800 price tag. Anyone?

Toyota, why not offer the great interior options of the Tundra in the Tacoma? I want a smaller truck with all the creature comforts, you know? Leather, Nav System, Burl Wood, DVD entertainment in the back? Right now I have to look at the Dakota if I want all of it. I'd rather get a Tacoma.

I like my music, so an ipod cradle with direct wiring into the stereo would be nice.
