You've gotta be kidding me. The economy will continue to worsen, with paycuts now hitting the state employees. Not to mention that Honolulu dealers are rip-offs. I decided to put $2K into my 8yo car rather than pay the dealers' hyperinflated prices.

What...is the County planning buying more cars? I bought a new TOyota Truck in California last year..had it shipped over...and stillsaved more than SVEN THousand dollars over Servco and their CROOKED DEALER NETWORK of thieves and liars ...they charge twice retail for all parts.

Their expectations are based on what? Pure speculation. It always great to be positive. However facts are facts. People purchase cars today because of necessity. There are very few consumers that are purchasing cars just because prices are great. 60 months or 72 months is a long time to pay for a car or truck...The economy for the next three years will be the key. Jobs.. Jobs .. Jobs this will move the economy.

On weekends I like to go to the car dealers (especially Porsche and BMW) and test drive cars. I have no intention of buying, but when else would I get a chance to drive a Porsche? Okay, I have to sit through some of their sales pitch, but I can get up and walk out at anytime. It's fun wasting their time. The high end guys know me now, but I can still go to lots of other dealers and test drive cars all weekend. Try it. Waste their time for a change. Then, when you leave, let them know what you did and watch their faces. It's fun!

So much BS.....car sales will dive along with the correction in the stock market. No more clunker's stimulus as well.

2010 will be the year of some interesting hybrids hitting the market. 2011 will see the real leaders of what will be the future of autos. It is time to sit and watch until then. My 1999 Camry is still running very well and will likely last until the market settles out and the winners are apparent.

You are so right, I just bought my daughter in law a VOLVO SUV for her and the kids earlier this year and I saved over 10K from the dealer here. Did you take off the Catalitc Coverter? You will get better mileage having it taken off. That is for smog control here. And hell since I was sending it to Hawaii I did not have to pay the 11.98 sales tax here. I only paid the 4.2 rate as they live on base.

The problem with the Hybrids are the batteries. One of my main clients Interstate batteries had a HUGE pow wow with all the car manufactureres to get their acts together and design cars where we can created only 5 or 6 different batteries. Hell the Toyota Hybrid be very careful. Batteries only lasting 3 years, and to make matters worst to replace battery is 3K. Wait it still does not pencil out.

You must have a really low self esteem. Why would anyone want to do something that is
wasting YOUR OWN TIME. Remember the sales people have to be there anyway, you on the
other hand DON'T HAVE TO BE THERE!! You mean to say living in Paradise you don't have
anything better to do. YOU ARE A LOSER!! GET A LIFE!!!!

Agree. When folks do that, the sales folks know. They just have to grin and bear it. What a waste of time and gas for those lookie loos.
