"Toyota is so on top of everything I don't think this will affect Toyota in the long run," Long said.

What a bunch of BS. At first, Toyota told customer to remove their floor mats on this one. Then a month or so later the recall is announced but with no process in place. How unorganized, not only that-they are leaving people in danger. We have a Toyota not listed in the recall and about 3 months ago almost got in a crash because of the accelerator issue, luckily we were able to pull over to the side of the road which caused us to slow down. Toyota is still trying to deflect blame in order for them to protect their reputation when they should be protecting the people that bought their cars.

I bought a new Toyota from these guys. Their "fix" was to sell you the floor mats separately, the idea being it becomes your problem, not theirs. I told them it was much more likely a problem with the accelerator electronics system and/or processor, and they just laughed at me.

THey are lying because they are not fixing them. I called them and they said wait for your notice from Toyota, then come in to get it fixed

I’m impressed yet again! It takes a "stand-up” great company to come out and address a potential problem as quickly as has Toyota has. I’ve owned Toyotas since the early 1980’s. They are a great product, dependable and well built. Way better than GMC or Chryslers. I have owned a Ford PU in the 1990’s but only because it was manufactured by Mazda! It was a Ford Ranger PU. Great little truck! Too bad the government owned GMC and Chrysler can't seem to get their sheet together what with their runaway labor costs due to UAW pressure which resulted in a sweetheart deal they cut with our Democrats in Washington! Have you been watching how our Democrat party leaders have been trying to denigrate Toyotas? Our little Liberal but-wipe, Henry Waxman, is posturing in front of the leftist mainstream press calling for a Congressional investigation to castigate Toyota as much as possible in his attempt to assist GMC and Chrysler.

Why would Democrats be trying to make a big deal out of this potential but so far miniscule number of alleged accelerator pedal problems? Here’s why;

Toyota manufacturing plants are all now located in Right-to-Work-States with the recent closing of our NUMI plant in California. You do know what a Right-to-Work status means don’t' you? Look it up! It'll become very clear why the Democrats are making a "Dog-and-Pony Show” out of this event! It’s what they do very well. Think of the alleged Oil Company profit Congressional investigations which were subsequently found to be completely legitimate profits with no collusion as was alleged by Democrats! This façade is getting real old and disingenuous Dems and the vast majority of the public has caught on! It was hilarious to listen to Obama’s SOTU address last week now trying to convince us he is fiscally responsible and concerned about spending! I laughed so hard my stomach ached the entire evening as Obama all of a sudden claimed he is concerned with spending since the Democrat loss in Massachusetts!

Dems, unless you want to lose real big come this November mid-term election, you better start the out of control spending, dump the Democrat only version of the government controlled costly health care fiasco, start treating radical Islamic terrorists as the killing sub-human pukes they have demonstrated themselves to be, keep them in military courts and in Gitmo, and close the borders! You Dems on the fast track out of office come November!

Sentinel reporters, have you checked into the accidents that were reported of people driving off the wharf and other similar accidents in our county over the past few years to see if they were Toyotas? I also remember a residential street in Santa Cruz where a man had accelerated greatly before crashing. I think it was Park in Santa Cruz by the clinic. Anyway, I would say it is worth some investigative reporting.

That is pretty scary. I had my accelerator stick on an old car long ago. If it happens to any of you try to think quickly and put the car in a neutral gear. That will stop it from moving and then get over safely.

A friend of mine works for Toyota and tells me that cars manufactured in the U.S. and Mexico are being recalled. Cars manufactured in Japan are ok.

SC Toyota service knowledge is subpar and they don't do the service they charge you for. Take it from a guy who designs some of these systems - beware

Toyotas are great cars
SC Toyota has less than acceptable service and practices
And I guess Indiana-manufactured parts are the root of the problem....

My husband is a tech at SC Toyota and many times a customer will come in thinking they know what they are talking about and they are clueless (including engineers). If all of you trash talkers think they are sub-par, then do the work yourselves.

Nice job at copying and pasting. It just goes to show you don't have the intelligence to form your own intelligent opinion. Come back when you have more than one brain cell,OK?

I think the problem at SC Toyota is not in the tech's, but in the manager's and customer service. Far from fair, understanding, and I even wonder about their honesty. I am not alone, and I take my car elsewhere.

And now the reporting has started about the Prius problems. Believe it or not, this one is a brake pedal problem. Seems that the pedal doesn't always go down far enough to fully apply the brakes. Toyota is in a world of hurt and it's only getting worse for them.

Gas peddle sticks on most models, the prius has faulty brakes... And Toyota has their collective heads in the sand. As an investor, Toyota is out and Ford is in.
