Toyota steering defect on the way to Nevada

I purchased my 2009 corolla used with 90,000 mi on it. On my first trip at freeway speeds the car " wandered " and consistently does it at all times above 40 MPH. It is a full time job to keep it in the lane. It is the worst steering car I've ever had. It behaves as though the toe in adj is off or the rear tire press is low. None of which the case. My girl friend refuses to drive the car. Toyota's attitude insures this will be the last Toyota I will ever own. The dealer service person was rude when I tried to explain the problem ( Doxon Toyota, Auburn, WA.)

Do some research. There are Toyota TSBs out that addresses this problem.

I thought I had some type of medical disorder/syndrome! I even went to my doctor and got test done. I'm fine but this car is a death trap! Wouldn't of known it until a took my wife's '97 Saturn to the store. I couldn't believe a 15+ year old car handled like a dream compared to my '09 corolla. I put new tires on it and an alignment. That just made it more dangerous being now the car responds faster to the steering problem these cars have. It's simply broke on the designers table! They(Toyota) say this is normal. I would sell it but I'm scared I'll be sued if someone died in it. What is going to take for the government to do something about it? I guess there is a number of deaths that is acceptable and not acceptable. I don't know what that number is. My luck I'll be that number.

Change the alternator. My power steering failed at least 40 times and I could see the lights going down. If I put the turning signal on then the lights would flash for one second. When I start my car, the starter would take maybe one or two seconds longer then usual. Then my father found a mechanic for me and the first thing he told me was to change the alternator. You would think the car is just 6 years old and that is impossible but it is. I have changed my alternator for at least a month now and no problem has occurred ever since.
