Just bought a 2008 Camry LE with standard CD player. Regular CD's play fine but I can't play my own CD-R discs with music that I have downloaded. The discs play for about 20 to 40 minutes and then they stop and you can't eject the discs. After the power is shut for at least 10 minutes to 2 days you can finally eject the disc. I have tried various brands of CD-R discs but to no avail. The discs have never had any sort of label on them nor have they any scratches. In fact, some of them were playing for the first time in the CD Player. Toyota replaced the CD Player but it did not help. Anyone else have this problem.

I am having the same problem! Any ideas how to get the CD out? How long did it take for Toyota to replace your player? Thanks!

2008 Camry’s are having an inherent problem with the standard CD players (not the upgrade). I have the same problem, the problem is the CD’s do not eject every time and sometimes the CD’s stop playing in the middle of the CD. In addition, the problem is somewhat intermittent, so if you take it to the dealer they might say “we do not see a problem.” You need to call the Toyota corporate help line and report your problem. Right now Toyota Corporate is claiming they have not seen any trends with CD problems because folks are not reporting them as they should be. If enough people complain they will no longer be able to be in denial. Here is the number: 1-800-331-4331. Do the right thing and report your problem. You may have to sit with your dealer repair man and walk him through the CD malfunction especially if your problem is intermittent like mine.

I purchased a new 2008 Camry November 30. My wife drives this car, and after I noticed the same problem today, she said it has been doing it since we got the car, and not just with CD's I've burned but with store-bought CD's as well. It's going back to the dealer tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be calling that 800 number first thing in the morning.

We got our Camry LE on Nov 29th and have only used the CD pplayer a handful of times but had 2 CDs stuck there already. We currently can't get the CD out. It is a brand new CD which we just took out of the case before playing it.

As of last night, I've had THREE CDs to stick in my Camry's CD player. Two were professionally-recorded CDs and one was my own music mix CD. They are completely impossible to get out. My dealer assures me I'm the only one having this problem. I'm taking this blog in today. After I talk to him, I will definitely report it to Toyota Corp as suggested above. (It takes 2 weeks for the dealer to receive the replacement radio, a day to install, then 3 weeks to get back the CD that was stuck inside. What a hassle!)

I have the same issue after a month of having this car. Annoyed and unhappy with this. I have this lease because my last Toyota transmission went out at 75,000 miles. Toyota is doing poorly these days if you ask me.

I purchase a 2008 Camry Toyota SE with the standard CD player and have been having problems with player. I can usually get the disc out by stopping and restarting the car and pressing the eject button several times. I have taken the car back twice and have been told they can not duplicate the problem, and in order for them to replace they must be able to report this to the company.
I will be taking the car in today with a copy of these posting, the dealer was implying that I was the only one having this sort of problem.

Are you stupid people?? Don't put more than one CD inside... If you do so, it'll stuck anyway.

We just bought a 2008 Camry LE with the standard CD player and the first CD we put in had the same problem. It played for over a half hour and then just stopped in the middle of a song. It would not eject or play the CD. My wife took it to a Toyota dealer 3 days later and it ejected the CD with no problem. From reading these posts it appears to be a common problem. I hope Toyota will recognize it soon and get it fixed.

more camry junk

I guess the 08 camry is just as much of a junk box as the 07 camry! I owned one (2007 camry) for 10 days, traded it back in at Down east toyota for my old car and lost 7000.00. toyota value????? I traded it back in for the dangerous hesitation/downshifting problem. I guess toyota has to pay for the oil sludge class action suite they lost some how. the QUALITY????? of the new toyota's???????? This car should be recalled!!!!!!
