I Bought a used 94 Toyota Camry, I gave it a tune up(changed oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, and new battery) and car still doesn’t want to start sometimes and dies sometimes, but its not always the same thing every time. CAN ANYONE HELP ME.

i have a 92 camry. not sure about your mileage, but i did a lot or replacing and did tune-ups (dist cap, dist rotor, wires, caps, filters) whenever needed. i bought mine at 121000, and i'm still using it at 207000 miles now.

Regarding starting:
at 125000, my ignition coils needed replacing, after car died.
at 140000 and 190000 replaced timing belt, alternator belt.
at 180000, replaced my starter. won't start unless i hammered the starer so i had to replace it.
at 197000, replaced battery terminals, cuz it wouldn't start.
at 207000, replaced my distributor (cuz of engine dying on turns, and trouble starting and accelerating)

I replaced the fuel pump and filter - problem still occurring - called a friend in Toyota repairs who said to replace a pressure switch on the motor that senses temperature/pressure or something like that and sends the info to regulate fuel amount needed to the injectors. Replaced that $30 part and the problem went away.

i HAVE A 1998 CAMRY it runs fine but it wants to stall when you are moving to park or backing up. I think it also does it while on the highway. It does'nt stall but after you leave off the throttle it might kind of skip and you can feel it catch and go like it should. Thank you for any help Al

Probably not the right board, but for what it's worth, try getting the throttle body cleaned. Not the stuff you pour in the gas tank, but actually have it removed and cleaned.

Liner I found the throttle body had about a 1/16th inch I cleaned it clean and tried it out it is better and the more I drive it seems to be getting better. I'll give it more time. Thank You Al

My 94 Camry is at 215000. it starts great in the morning and threw out the day. At night I deliver pizza. Lately when I've been driving for a bit when I go into the work place for say 20-30 minutes waiting for deliveries, and go out to start the car it fires up then goes to low idle and stalls. So I give it gas when I start it and hold it to about 2000 rpms for 10-20 seconds and the cars fine What could it be

hi! your problem is the crank sensor,,, located under the starting motor, I have realized that because I have had a same problem, finally when the car warm up turn off for it self, now I take of the crank sensor and it has a little metal in the middle and it was finished, so try that is not expensive
