Purchased a 07 camry on 6-2-07, monday 6-4-07 called det service dept told them of problems with hesitation/downshifting, I was told to drive for a week so car can learn driving habits.
I did, at end of week 6-11-07 with no change in cars performance I called det service dept again, this time I was told no fix at this time but not to worry because like the v6 camry they had to pull all off lot for transmission problems when and if toyota comes up with a fix they will let me know. when I asked about what I had been told about driving car for a week so it could learn driving habits person on phone laughed and said well.... its true car will learn driving habits but that will not help hes/dwnshftng problem.
With being told no fix at this time I called det sales dept talked with the salesman don scott he told me to come in and drive any 07 camry on lot to see it does same thing. I said no thanks. with being told no fix I traded back for my 05 buick lacrosse I traded 10 days earlier.
We got to det sales dept around 6pm 6-11-07, don greeted us at door and said its funny the saturday I sold you your camry he sold three and two have come back. we did not think it was funny.
At paper signing we found we will be loosing the 5000.00 cash down and owe 2000.00 more on the 05 buick than we did 10 days earlier when I asked don why we are loosing that much money because we purchased a car with unfixable problems do said with it being after 7pm no one there could answer that question.
With being told no fix for the 07 camry we traded back in for 05 buick. I called det several times to find out why I lost that much money for a problem with a car I purchased with no fix, no one called me back. I called toyota and emailed them several times I was told there is a problem with alot of complaints and that toyota was working on a fix.
In september kevin kelly called me back asked me what I wanted? when I asked him why I lost so much money because of a dangreous problem with the 07 camry with no fix he told me he was not aware of problem with the hesitation/downshifting, I told him that I had talked with toyota and they told me of this problem with alot of complaints and working on problem, Kevin told me that toyota would never tell me there is a problem and that he did not hold a gun to my head to buy camry or to trade it back in so I can do nothing about loosing that much money.

Any one out there have same problem??? maybe told the same things I was???

Like kevin kelly says he did not hold a gun to my head to buy the 07 camry or to trade it back in because they had and still have no fix for the dangerous hesitation/downshifting problem for the 07 08 camry that in sept kevin kelly was not aware of any problem??? and loose 7000.00 trading it back in 10 days later. well kevin you seem to be right you did not hold a gun to my head to buy camry or to trade it back in and you are right even if toyota admitted a problem of the dangerous hesitation/downshifting with the 4cly camry that they are working on a fix, they would not admit it again, which they would not. and you were right, toyota would in no way help me, and like YOU said you know me verry well where I use to work for you. By working at det I should have known better then to purchase a car (several) cars from you after working for det. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!!!!!!!!!!
Screwed me twice my fault for going back. but that will never happen ever again!!!!! to me or my family!!!!!
GOOOGLE 07 CAMRY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS and see for yourself!!!
GO TO www.autotrader.com and look at how many 07 and 08 camrys have been traded back in with under 5000 miles and are sitting on lots, must be a reason think its the dangerous hesitation/downshifting problem??? what ever the reason is people are finding out the hard way like I did at DOWN EAST TOYOTA in brewer maine.

BY the way how many people out there took the free spoiler toyota is offering the customers when they complain of problem and told normal?? car will learn driving habits??? any more B S answers about this dangerous 07 camry????

PEOPLE should look into the 2007 AND the 2008 camry before you buy it.
It seems that there it a problem with the (transmission) with hesitation and downshifting.
Our 2007 camry le 4cly has been in shop four times with this complaint Two compuer upgrades and problem has come back.
SERVICE mgr now says car is running normal. NORMAL?? how can it now be normal when toyota has two computer updates to fix this problem that is now normal??

Bought my 2007 Camry LE-4 in Sept 2006...had hesitation problems..brought back to selling dealer in Jan 2007 along with a tech service bulletin I found online. They used an advisory identified as EG5043 to upgrade computer. Problem returned within weeks..went to another dealer in
August 2007..they used advisory identified as EG7031. Problem returned. This week (7/6/08) I returned to selling dealer. Service manager advises the computer fix for hesitation just appeared 2 months ago (previous bulletins applied to transmission). The CORRECT one is identified as TSB 006808 EG8025. I put 100 miles on the car today...local streets and highways....the fix seems to have worked. No problems at all. I'll see how long this one lasts!

Google 07 camry transmission problems.
Google 07 camry paint problems
Google 07 camry radio problems.
Google toyota oil sludge problems.
Go to www.autotrader.com to see how many 07 08 and 09 camrys are sitting on lots with nder 10,000 miles? must be a reason maybe its the great trade in value the wounderful car dealers give?
Or maybe its the dangerous hesitation/down shifting problem this car has with the now three tsb's to fix this problem, and when it does not fix problem the problem becomes normal???
Toyota moving forward in a heap of toyota hype!!!
You can sell a turd to anyone if you talk it up enough and toyota proves it!!!

The 07 Toyota camry I have been talking about now lives in maryland title # 39955293.
It is now on its 4th owner with only 37000 miles.
I can not understand why this car has been sold so many times? maybe its the dangerous hesitation/downshifting problem that becomes normal after the now atleast three tsb's fail to fix this problem.
If you are going to purchase a camry 07 08 09 10 it will be worth paying the $39.99 price for carfax, For the fun of it just go on line pick 4 or 5 camrys write vin # down and check all of them to see how many owners, ask yourself why so many owners. Google 07 camry transmission problems.
Google toyota venza transmission problems.
Think twice do your homework.

If this is the attitude of the General Manager of Toyota then Mr. Kelly just opened himself a big can of whoop ass as far as I am concerned. Toyota is known, or has been, for their customer service and suppot and this shows a blatant disregard for the integrity of their customers. Kicking the people who have financially supported him. Every dime a consumer spends in this or any dealership or business p-a-y-s for their jobs, so really we are their employer. I am wondering if you have written Mr. Darling about this?

Then take it further....there are a multitude of customer service complaint centers online, write AAA about it (they highly endorse this dealership for their customer service and maintenance)-call their local Bangor office and ask for the man in charges name, title and address in Portland, write the Better Business Bureau about it, write the Attorney General regarding the Lemon Law (should be in your glove compartment book)-your vehicle may not be a lemon but it puts a bad light on the dealership anyway, write to the newspapers (letter to the editor) about your dealings with them, write to Toyota themselves since this dealership is a direct representative of this company. I know Toyota is not the best when it comes to dealing with customer complaints but now is a better time since they are all over the news. They may not do anything and they may not hear anything back personally but the more who complain,(1) they cannot deny the lack of satisfaction,(2) they will need to investigate eventually and(3) your letter and complaint might just be the one that is the straw that breaks the camels back so to speak. What is in our favor as customers of that dealership is that they think we cannot do anything about it and their ignorance will be their downfall. They may think we as consumers can do nothing about it but if people are serious about their complaints, then say so. WE pay their bills, they do not pay ours. Don't be silent about it cause it will never go away if we, as consumers, don't say anything. If he actually was stupid enough to say those things to you, I wouldn't hesitate to let everyone know, and prove, how ignorant he and that dealership actually is !!!
