Are we at TMMK suppose to be happy about this guy coming in? After about 20 years at Kodak, what does he have to show for it? Koday was a powerhouse international company when he was moving up there. Now, they are slowly but surely selling off everything they have because they failed to keep up with new trends. It's a riches to rags story if there ever was one.
But that seems to be the trend at Toyota lately. Instead of promoting from within and pulling from the people who already know the Toyota system and have a vested interest in it's success, they recruit the leftovers from other failing companies. Anyone here remember St Angelo? He was a castout from GM while they were bleeding money and market share. Did he redeem himself here? I challenge anyone to find someone who says yes. How about another standout looser, John Delong, does that name ring a bell. Was anyone overly impressed with the job Gary Convis done? Don't think so.
Even at lower levels of management Toyota is recruiting throwaways from Gm and Ford and other failing companies. How about you look at these people's resumes before you give them a badge? Do you not see the thousands of people who come in here everyday that have proven themsleves to be leaders? Does management have such a negative view of the production employees that they just can't stomach sharing an office cubicle with them? I keep hearing how TMMK's best days are behind her. If the hiring decisions by the upper management is any indication, they must feel the same way.

Amen. I wish Toyota would practice what they preached so many years ago. I'm not talking about pay. I realize the jobs are paid very well. But what about the people that have worked there way up and most ( not all) are a success. Why is that? Why bring in all the gm/ford/etc.... To being us all down? They did it once. LOol at the last few years... We had a buyout and all the recruited in"top dogs " at Tmmk jumped ship!!!( except 1 that is and she retired ). They bought us way down to their level and then boom, left us to fix their mistakes. Guess what ,,,, we did and now we are back, moving on up and looks to be making the same mistakes all over and leaving to their LOYAL, HoNEST, HARD WORKInG, trained by tmc team members to fix it. Wil is a lifer and I have faith in him but keep the others OUT. Let them go somewhere else and screw things up while the best of the best team members continue to build te best cars ever. Give these people their dues. Keep the John delons out and give them time to write a book about something he definitely did not believe in or practice. He is a joke. One foundation that Toyota is founded on is RESPECT. Without it, you will be right back where we were 3 yrs ago...
