We have a 2006 Toyota Avalon and have had a terrible problem with the paint chipping and scratching and swirling. I am glad to hear others have had this problem, too, as the dealer and Toyota both have made it seem like it is our fault. We have an arbitration hearing on June 11.

Someone else had previously posted those exact changes for the 2008 model on edmunds web site, but again, no source or additional specifics. They sound reasonable, though, considering last year's changes were minimal.

The only available source for the 2008 model is at the dealer IF they are willing to release the info. Out of three dealers, I only found one that would show me a small booklet that contained the details. One other thing that I noted that was not included on the list posted here and in Edmunds is that the car will also have Bluetooth capability.

But what you may not have seen
is that Toyota has already
passed both Ford and GM in a different category -
automotive recalls.

Although we've barely passed mid-February,
Toyota has already recalled! 533,417
vehicles this year in a mix that, according to www.AutoRecalls.us ,
includes Tundras Sequoias and Camry’s. That puts Toyota on track to recall
more than the over 1.76 million autos they recalled in the U.S. and Japan
in 2006, and the 2.2 million they recalled in 2005 when they recalled
more cars than they built.

What's more, the current recall
related to the Turdra trucks and Sequioa SUVs is similar to the same defect
in 800,000 of the same vehicles in 2005.
