IF YOUR CAR IS NOT ON THE RECALL DO NOT TAKE IT IN ANYWAY!!!!
YOU ARE JUST WASTING THE DEALERS TIME AND PROLONGING THE REPAIRS TO CARS THAT ACTUALLY NEED IT.

IF YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT ONE OF THE MODELS OF THE RECALL.. CALL YOUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND FIND OUT WHAT THE PEOPLE INVOLED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO... IF YOU BRING IN TO DEALERSHIP ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS WASTE YOUR TIME AND THE OTHER'S TIME WORKING IN THE DEALERSHIP.
THAT IS WHY YOU SHOULD CALL THEM FIRST TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OK... "CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DEALERS FIRST BEFORE YOU JUST DROP IN"

Buy American
Ford engine blocks made in Brazil, Rods and bearings made in Mexico etc etc all assembled in Lima, OH

General Motors most parts made in South and Central America assembled in the USA

Do I need to say more.

By the way Toyota, Honda, VW and most of the forgein vechiles also assembled in the USA by US workers. In fact the parts the failing is made by a company in Indiana for Toyota.

The only Toyota's that are being recalled were the ones made here in the US...so much for buying American. Those vehicles with JT at the beginning of their vin #s are okay (made in Japan)....and yes, this was reported on national news...again, so much for buying American.

That's BS, because we had a VIN with "JT" and were quite happy with it until it jumped over a curb while my wife was braking at a doc's appt. It only had 12,878 miles on it and sat mostly in the drive way. It's a 2009 Corolla LE. Took it into the Toyota dealer on Jan, 23 after hearing about the recall on NBC news the Thursday before and they ran diagnostic test on the machine and said no problem. We then took it and traded in for a 2010 Honda Civic LX. It's the electonics folks. I just hope they don't have the same electronics (software) in the 2010 Honda's.

Back to Honda...Are you sure it wasn't your wife's driving????? I have a (2003)Corolla and so far no problems. Also, are Corolla's on the recall list?...don't remember seeing that model.

Well, it seems like the 2009-2010 Corolla's are on the list so it probably wasn't her driving.

On the radio this morning a man in Newport News, VA. was parking his 2007 Avalon in front of his apartment complex. As he was pulling into the parking space it took off hitting his apartment building causing damage to his apt door frame and other damage and he is now homeless. His apartment has been condemned. It's the electronics, not the pedal. What a mess.

How do you know that he didn't just hit the gas by mistake instead of the brake? That happens every day. Just sayin....
