Does anyone elsehave a problem of getting the car out of park? I thought I was crazy and/or just not used to pushing down on the gear shift knob but now my husband is having the same experience! Any clues?

YES...YES...YES!!!!
My daughter bought a 2005 Suzuki Forenza and as of two weeks ago, the key has been stuck in the ignition. Since the key will not come out - even when it's on "park," the car electronic system belives that the car is still on and the battery drains. Evey two days she has to "jump" the car to get it started. Her dad took the car to a mechanic this morning and he said that there's probably a sensor chip in the key and since the car will not fully go to the "park/lock" position, the car will not release the key. He said that only the Suzuki people will have to fix the problem and re-program the key. It's almost impossible to shift the gear from Park to Drive, because if this problem.
