With 4000 miles on my 06 Grand Vitara, the rear brakes were squealing. Took it to dealer, was told they had defective brake shoes, and they did a brake job on it. Now, 4000 miles later, rear brake is squealing again. Anybody else have this problem?
Yes very similar problems. Brand new Vitara started squeeking and was told by mechanic it is a new hard disck pad that was prescribed by the manufacturer and nothing can be done about it. Now after two major services and still no joy I am going to take action. Will contact Suzuki headoffice and demand the problem be fixed or they can take their car back.
Cheers,
Jan

I just bought a 2006 Grand Vitara mostly because of its ability to tow up to 300 lbs and is advertised as being towable behind a motorhome. The problem is that I haven't been able to locate front brackets for towing. Has anyone any information that they can share ?

Yes - our 06 is squealing as well - we were told this was normal with high humidity. None of my other cars (toyota) squeal.

I have a 2001 and I believe there was a recall about this very problem. I don't remember what the solution was exactly, but I think it was something to do with the fuel pump or fuel line.

I have a 2006 Grand Vitara as well and my car is squealing among other things does anyone know anymore about this problem? My car also jerks when I am breaking at a normal rate has this happen to anyone else? One more thing does anyone hear a lot of wine as they drive? Like its coming up through the hood(rattling noise). I'm almost at 7000 miles. I have never had so many problems with a car!!!

Hi all.

I have a 94 3 door 1.6 Vitara, its great apart from problems going between the gears?
1st and second are tough, 3rd can be a right pain then 4th and 5th are just awkward. Reverse crunches fairly badly too!

I am sure the box is fine as i have no other problems, no noises, never jumps out of gear and no fluid loss to be honest it drives very well for its age its just this problem with selecting gears :(

Any help advice greatly appreciated.

I have a 2002 Grand Vitara. In Jaunaury 2006 I needed to have a front axle seal replaced and the car only had 36,497 miles on it. It was also discovered that my 4 x 4 Acuater needed to be replaced at a cost of $435.00. Neither was covered by the warranty.
Now with 41,500 miles I am told that the front differential needs to be replaced and since I did not have the recommended differential service at 30,000 miles, this repair will not be covered by the warranty. Has anyone else run into these problems?

I have a 2001 RHD Grand Vitara 2.0 TD (Peugeot engine). Very reliable on and off road. Is anyone aware of a 'repair/workshop' manual preferably in English but maybe in French?

I have a 2001 Suzuki Vitara. The lights seem to pulse with the engine rpms. A mechanic at a Suzuki dealer told me that this was just something that this model does. But it's very disconcerting to drive down the highway and notice your headlights pulsing. Sometimes it's a big pulsing, sometimes it's a small, but it's always "in time" with the engine. And it's the entire electrical system as the interior lights pulse along with it. Anyone else have this problem?
