So am I. Don't know where mine was assembled, but it's been to the dealer about 15 times in the last year.

Suzuki needs to ditch GM and the Daewoo connection.

My suzuki Verona has been a nightmare. It has been to the dealer at least 15 times since I purchased it in 7-04! At my 15k service I was told that the cylinder head was defective and they replaced it and caused even more problems. CD player is noisy at times, transmission shift to reverse is the worst! The amin problem is finding dealers that can actually repair the problems. The Computer has been replaced once and reprogrammed at least 4 times. It seems their fix is to "Re Flash the Computer!" The ignition has failed more than once and left me stranded. So many more issues and not done yet! I just picked up from the dealer this past friday and still has the same "High Idle" problem! There solution was to, you guessed it, "Re flas the computer!" sick and tired of being sick and tired!

They rebuilt the engine twice on mine. I have found that if I replace the plugs and air filter when doing oil changes (Every 3K miles), it seems to take care of the stalling. My plugs seem to continuosly foul.
Flashing the ECM was useless, and may have even made the problem worse. Suzuki has been awful about standing behind their warranty. I have needed to call the district manager every time I have brought the car in to get ANY consideration. They want to charge a diagnostic fee for warranty work. I am assuming the fee is to discourage my complaining. |

local suzuki dealer would not even show me a Verona. Said that there were too many problems with that car. Said that Suzuki is buying them back and putting people in a Grand Vitara instead.

In regards to the Verona: After reading the full story it sounds like Suzuki is taking the attitude that they only slapped their badge on the Verona and Forenza. Now that Suzuki is being bad mouthed, Suzuki is screaming "Hey, it's not really a Suzuki!" and distancing themselves from it. GM's stance is "Hey, our badge is not on it, see ya suckers!" Unfortunately, Suzuki reiterated that last part to the Verona owners by discontinuing the Verona line.

so what are the options, fix the car to the warranty runs out than be forced to by another one.

I have a 2004 Verona EX. I like the car & so far have had only one problem the dealer seems unable to correct. I don't if it's because the technician doesn't know what he's doing or what. I keep getting this noise from the reaar end. Kind of sounds like something is loose & rolling around in the trunk. I've had it to the dealer who said it was the rear bushings & they replaced them. Within same week the sound was back. That noise seems to be worse during hotter weather. I'm wondering if it could be my shocks???
If anyone has had a similar problem, please do email me. p.kirk@sbcglobal.net My problems have been moreso with the dealer...it seems they don't know hwat they are doing. Thank you |

I knew I was not the only one!! After purchasing my verona in 2005 w/ only 7miles Ive had nothing but problems then in 2006 I was wondering why I hadnt seen it advertised CAUSE ITS A PIECE OF JUNK. Dont get me wrong its really pretty but everything seems to go wrong the trans always has problems, car shakes, makes weird noises, exhaust smell cant even use my ac and I live in central texas it really SUCKS. And no-one from suzuki has ever contacted me informing me of the recalls or just to let me know I have a LEMON bad bad customer service. But back in the summer of 06 my verona sat for 3months and did not make my car payment cause I was not satisfied & it wasnt running! But ofcourse suzuki contacted me then I informed them @ the car & they just wanted my payment. THIS CAR HAS REALLY BEEN AN INCONVENIENCE FOR ME & MY FAMILY.

Just had the transmission on my 07 Forenza lock up on the highway sending my into a spin. Dealer says they've never heard of such a thing.

I just happened to google the verona and I really wished I had done so earlier. I purchased a brand new 2006 Verona in March 2006. By December of 2006 I have had the bushings replaced, rack and pinion replaced, the tire pressure light continously stays on,the transmission light has come on, there is a noise on the front end that comes and goes after they have done so many things to fix the noise it is pathetic. Yesterday the windshield wipers did not work. The motor was running the wipers were not. I was initially going to go to work because I started training for a new job, by the time I tried putting the car in reverse neither wipers were working. I wonder if that's a safety issue when you have snow conditions. Hummmm. Nothing in the manual for a fix, took it into the dealer, they said it was a safety issue to prevent the wiper motor from going out. That's wonderful for the motor, doesn't however do me a bit of good if there's a snow blizzard or it rains and I so blinded I can't see anything coming. I don't know if I bought a new car with used car issues or a used car in new car disguise. My confidence in the car is so low I'm scared to put in on a road trip out of town because I may not make it back! If I can't get somewhere when I want or need to, I sure can't get there on leisure either. I've had people actually get out of my car and look underneath to see what the noise is. By the way my computer has been replaced, the car at one time had this nice feature that formally dimmed the interior light when exiting the car and now that doesn't work either. I bought the car for the 100,000 warranty but find myself taking it back almost every 2000-3000 miles. I'M SICK OF THIS PIECE OF JUNK! AT ONE POINT THEY HAD IT FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH AND THEY STILL COULDN'T GET IT FIXED! I hope that someone from the company is reading this.

Yep, I owned one once. Fortunately I didn't have too many problems with it but at 50,000 miles I just didn't know where it was going mechanically. I just didn't want to keep it for another 10 thousand miles and have the thing just die on me. Warranty or not, I need a reliable car. Plus the $90 oil changes were killing with the synthetic oil and over 7 quarts of it.
Last month I test drove a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe. I'm in love.... plus the car will still have value after 4 years-the same time I owned the Verona. I put such a huge down payment on the car so that I wouldn't be upside down financially but I felt that the longer I owned the car the value was getting closer and closer to the payoff. I waited until the end of the month to buy and I requested that the trade-in value they offered just wasn't enough. They started at 5 grand, I got 6. Better than nothing. It's on their lot now for $8500. If they can get it, good for the dealer. The Honda is one of the best cars out there with the highest customer satisfaction. I can certainly believe that if this coupe is any indication. Good luck. |
