Rear Suspension Clunk

Newly purchased 10K mile lease return. Very nice car with one exception! Driving slowly over a speed bump I get a really loud clunk from the right rear corner. Happens when the tire clears the bump and decends on the far side. It does not happen when only the left rear wheel encounters the bump and does happen when the right rear wheel encounters the bump.
Took it to the dealer. On the lift, the tech tightened anything he could reach. Visual inspection didn't show him anything. Driving over speed bumps in their lot confirmed the noise (clunk). So they blamed it on the spare tire or tool carrier (I knew better). No record of such a problem in the data base of the east coast main service (?) shop. They established a "case number" for my problem.
At home I removed the spare tire and tool carrier and still have the loud clunk. I'll much appreciate any ideas on what to look for when I take it to the dealer again.
Thanks
Frank Phelps
