my 98 legacy is over heating I have had a mechanic look at it he had the radiator flushed and checked out it was ok then the mechanic put some sealer stuff in it for the head gasket if that was the problem but that didn't fix it. Put new radiator cap on and new thermastat, Even by passed heater core and still over heated don't know what else to do please help!

Those Subys were noted for head gasket/cylinder head failures (not to mention "piston slap"....long story). I'd bet the rent that's your problem. You've got to do a compression test and/or a cooling system hydocarbon test(think that's what it's called). Those cylinder heads warp very easily after the engine has overheated. Probably gonna be expensive. |
