Subaru sales slide

With one exception, the sales of Subaru vehicles in the United States declined in April, when compared to the same month last year. Full Story

Too bad. Subaru makes good cars. And they're made here in Indiana.

too bad they are so small (interior wise)and underpowered (except for the WRX STI). Otherwise I would consider one. They have a great reliability track record.

Maybe it's because their head gaskets blow at 68k miles, resulting in a $2000 repair bill. I certainly can't recommend buying a Subaru and won't be a repeat customer.

Subarus ARE American Made! In fact, they're made by Hoosiers.

OGRE,
I have a standard 2.5 '05 Legacy. I don't know what the hp rating is, but that car will get up and go!

Did you follow all the factory recommended maintenance?

If you really want a sucky car, go by a Volkswagen!

Out of context... The article, Mr. SHOWALTER doesn't say how the rest of the industry did. Is it all up, all down, mixed? Who is doing good (besdies Toyota) and who is doing poorly?

The numbers on the units declining are numbers that seem to be realted to SUVs. Well, the SUVs are going down all over the place, yes?

The Impreza is up, which makes sense because it's a nice little car line.

Why even bother to put the Baja in this mix? It hasn't been produced since April 2006, so who cares how it is doing?

This "article" is a sloppy cut and paste job without fundamentals. As a piece of news, it is worthless.

I bought a Subaru because of their great reputation for quality and their AWD. Too bad that when problems struck, they told me my car was not covered by their service bulletin and was a few thousand miles out of warranty. Even though I had the exact same problem on the same year and model of car that was covered (2002 Impreza) under WWP-99 (leaky head gasket). They don't stand behind their product in the event of a problem even when it is clearly a design flaw. I don't recommend them and won't buy another.

Is this car a gender bender? I kind have noticed a lot of tough chicks driving Subarus.

I own a 2005 Baja. It has plenty of power and plenty of space, even for my 6'3" brother in the back seat. It's a shame they are not making them anymore.

As far as problems- no so far. Show me one automaker who has not had a major mechnical problem at some point. There have even been some makers who have tried to deny deadly problems exist. I think owning a car requires expecting mechanical breakdowns.

Just how desperate for transportation would one have to be to buy a Subaru?

Do you work for Subaru or something? Geez maybe you should spend more time focusing on putting together a decent car. They built and sold me a defective car and refused to take care of the problem. Yes I have a grudge! So do thousands of others who got screwed over by Subaru. Who wouldn't?
