2010 Subaru Forester Review

Last year's introduction of the then all-new Subaru Forester saw the boxy crossover grow substantially in size over its predecessor, benefiting passengers with increased cabin space all around.

I just bought a 2010 Subaru Forester and I am not impressed at all with it. The only reason I did buy it was I owned a 2001 Forester (from new) and it was rock solid the day I sold it, with very few rattles. This new truck with 20 Km on it rattled something fierce, the headlights sometimes would work then not. Found the only way I could sometimes get them to turn on was to shut the truck off and restart it (windows software maybe??). The rear drivetrain sounds bad when cornering and the Turbo (maybe) has a squeel sound when starting and doesnt go away for miles and miles of driving. I figured let it blow up as its under warrantee. Will I recomend Subaru (nope), will I buy another one (nope), will I keep this one (hard to tell after only owning it one week). Its going back to the dealership with a notepad full of repairs. Its a piece of junk, but a good looking one from the outside, just dont start it.

Did you even bother to drive this thing before you bought it?

Like Mike, I loved my 2010 Forester when I first received it. Then the bloody rattles started. Over weeks I tracked down and fixed well over 10 noises. There is one left - a rattle in the roof near the left rear airbag. I took it to the Dealer (Stealer) because I don't like working near airbags. Stealer spent 10 days supposedly fixing the noise. Rattle still there, and Stealer says tough, take it up with Subaru. NO MORE SUBARU VEHICLES FOR ME EVER. BE WARNED.

I have a 2010 Subaru forester xt limited. I've had acura and bmw products in the past. Best vehicle I've ever had. I too had some door rattles that were fixed by the dealer. Suspension is the best blend of performance and ride comfort for any small suv i've driven. Fantastic with bridgestone blizzaks this year in the snow.

A Subaru with Blizzaks is basically a mountain goat.
