Local claims $300 kit turn car into a hybrid

Ben Overbeck is well aware that what he's selling sounds too good to be true: A relatively simple system -- made with a Mason jar, rubber tubing and some electrical coils -- that promises to increase your ...

Your car will use no gas at all if you only click your heels together and say " there's no place like home ". This method is 100% guaranteed if you do not start your engine. Visa / Mastercard accepted.

"Wing-nut" LOL
Only a small problem overcoming the Second Law of Thermodynamics: separating water in hydrogen and oxygen is indeed possible, but takes MORE energy to do that than you get back when you re-combine (burn) them.
Only a complete and utter fool would buy this.
On the other hand, you could buy it, realize you've been scammed, then realize your neighbors are probably as ignorant as you, so...sell the idea itself! PROFIT!!!11!@one!1!!

I am a liar and a thief, but give me money anyway!

If it was published in the Times-Standard, that means that there MUST be fools that live around here who have more money than brains!

These people I can steal from because I am a lying thief.

Well now,
To all of you skeptics out there, here in Chico some engineering students have developed the "device" into a more commercial product. It does work, but not the was the guy here describes it.
Also they make theirs out of aircraft grade materials, not a mason jar and tubing. I've seen one made that way and they look dangerous.
They also sell them for about 45 bucks,I have one on my Ford truck and I get about 22 miles miles per gallon, average. My friend has one on an older model Volvo and gets 40 miles per gallon.
So before you start spouting the second law of anything, remember we are talking combustion engines here, big oil has kept devices like these in the closet for years.

HHO (H2O?) hydrogen gas (H2) and oxygen gas (O2), browns gas? fancy name for by-products of hydrolosis (splitting water molecules with electricity). hybrid? I don't think so. Still a single fuel source (gas) hydrogen from water vapor only increases/changes existing aspiration of the motor not power it.

"there's no reason to believe that even more modest increases claimed by some of the ads could be achieved by a conventional, computer-controlled automobile engine,” he says"...so buy more gas

I'm sure the Toyota, Dodge, and Ford dealerships' service centers will love when people try this out with their cars.

This has been around for awhile. The science is there but most of you wouldnt be smart enough to understand it. My main concern is that hydrogen is flammable and it wouldnt be too fun having your engine explode in the name of saving some gas. I dont think this guy is a scammer but i would want to see the results first hand. We should invest in this type of technology and tell the arabs to suck it (technical term).

I personally know several people with these kits in their vehicles, and these people have virtually doubled their mileage! I am about to install mine on my car this week!

It's easy to drink a six-pack of beer every night while you make blind negative comments about something you know absolutely nothing about. Perhaps you wish gas prices would go even higher?

This is just what Big Oil and their Middle Eastern Bed-Fellows would like you to continue doing!

It's time to wake up, and embrace a positive change, something new and different for many people to do.

I suspect that water vapor is being drawn into the engine, turns to superheated steam during combustion, adds additional power while extracting heat that the cooling system did not have to waste. Maybe not getting more than you put in, but instead turning normally wasted heat to useable power?
