Clunkers program pulls in buyers

Car and truck owners looking to junk their gas guzzlers are flocking to dealerships to take advantage of the government's "cash for clunkers" program and buy more fuel-efficient vehicles, boosting sales in showrooms across the country.

$4500 per vehicle to the TOYOTA dealer of choice? Calif. has SMOG CHECK
these vehicles wouldn't be registered if they didn't pass. The program should
have been for domestic vehicles only. And don't tell Me WE don't make ?
WE do. My domestics have never been "in the shop" Ford, Chevy. Chrysler.

It's a sad day in the neighborhood when our government is telling you to change your life style ! It's nice that these trade in buyer's have a job to help support our car dealer's ! This program is not for me and many other's who cannot afford a car payment. I don't consider my vehicle a clunker, I'm proud to be an owner of a "CLUNKER" and I believe there's pleanty of us around !

agreed, My 1992 Silverado w/60K miles ain't "scrap metal".....
