turn the key on and push the accelerator to the floor and hold for three seconds. after starting the car light should go out in less then a minute

The correct method to reset your oil change light is to turn the ignition on but don't start the car. Now, press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. The light should start flashing indicating that it is reset. It won't come on the next time you start the car. Per my owner manual on a 2004 L300 V6 wagon.

I have an LW300 but you turn on the ignition but don't start. Hold down the oil reset button for at least 5 seconds. Button is located in fuse box under the hood.( Mine is a July 2003 production but has a 2004 system) this worked for me

I tried it on my Saturn L300 2004 Sedan, and it worked :)
