I have a 2003 9-3 convertible and the air bag light comes on. I had it checked under warranty and they thought they fixed it but it came back on 5 months later (car is off warranty now). I replaced the battery and the airbag light went off for a few months but came back on. I don't think I have had any other messages like "headlight is out" or "replace battery" like I have seen in my 9-5. I am thinking the computer is interpreting another fault but sending me the airbag message. Does anybody else have this problem?

I have a 92 convertible turbo. The first time that happened I took it to my mechanic. He told me every time you unplug the battery for along time that happens. He was right, I had unpluged the battery for like 10 hours. The second time a fuse blew, it happened. I don't know how he fixed it. He had a little gage with him. He went down the stearing wheel, he fixed it. It took him less than two minutes.

If your 9-3 saab airbag light continues to stay on then you'll probably need a new set of Saab airbags or a replacement 9-3 air bag computer. There are a few sites offering used airbags http://www.safetyairbags.com is the best.

It seems there is alot of problems with the "newer" Saabs. I got a saab 9-5 1999, And my airbag light just lit up. I searched around on the nett, finding many of the same comments. "saab makes me saad" Could you please talk to your mechanic and ask him what he did? So that other people out there can fix this problem. Instead of going to the shop and payin hundreds of $. Thanks.

Im just bought a used 2008 9-5 combi sport.(In canada).

The air bag indicator light glows a pale orange when I am behind the driver seat. Is this normal. The manual indiciates there may be a problem when the lights stay on after ignition. But other sections of the manual seem to say this is normal.

Note that the light system for cars sold in USA is
not the same (as per the manual.)

Thanks

My SAAB 9-5 has just developed the 'airbag' dash warning light problem. Do you advice on resolving the fixing it?

CHECK THE CONNECTORS UNDER THE SEAT!
Someone got into my SAAB and electrically pushed the seat back - TOO FAR! I had the same issue on an older Alfa, again seat pushed back too far and unplugged the connectors. Connected them back ALL OK NOW!¬

I have a 2004 Saab 0-5 Arc. The airbag light warning started coming on and off intermittently for the past month. Finally brought it into the dealership today to find out that the whole damn airbag in my driver's side door needs to be replaced due to a faulty sensor. Whatever that means. I haven't been in an accident, nothing has changed with the condition or upkeep on the car, and it has only 35,000 on it. The guy told me as long as the sensor is on, NONE of the airbags will deploy, even if there's an issue with only one airbag. I've got a new baby and can't take that risk. $800 later....it better be a damn nice airbag. I guess you can't put a price on safety. I wish you guys better luck than I had.
