If anyone would ever says I am 'not playing with a full deck', I have the perfect excuse. As a four or five yes old, I fell out of 1940's era family car with a suicide door while it was moving at the speed limit. Not wanting to go with my mother on a long trip to pick up my father after work, I attempted to open the rear door of the car and was immediated sucked out of the back seat and fell to the highway in front of other moving vehicles. Please don't tell me that a seat belt would have prevented this. If I was foolish enough to open the car door while the car was moving, I would also have figured out how to remove the seat belt as well. No more suicide doors for me.

Not trying to assist Honda but on the Element the front door must be open prior to the rear door being opened.

Same with the chevy silverado...if the front door isn't open, you can't open the back "suicide" door.

I think it's brilliant and I wish more cars came with the option.

And as far as falling out of moving cars...I think it's probably possible to fall out of any open car door...not just the "suicide" versions...

Parents also locking car doors, which is recommended by the highway patrol as it increases the likeliness of the door staying shut upon impact, is also another way to help insure that passengers remain in the vehicle...regardless of the door design.
