Does the New Porsche Boxster RS60 Spyder do Justice to its Heritage?

There are 9 comments on the 993c4s.com story from Mar 13, 2008, titled Does the New Porsche Boxster RS60 Spyder do Justice to its Heritage?. In it, 993c4s.com reports that:

That's the question asked today at the Porsche centric blog of 993C4S.

Given that the new limited edition Boxster is based upon the 1960 RS 60 Spyder that performed and won at Sebring, does the Boxster make a strong enough statement in representing this provenance?

I agree 100%. I think a car like the original Spyder should be represented by the brands premiere model; the 911.

If you're a Boxster fan and you don't agree, let us know and why.

Better balanced. The 997 is as close to 50/50 as you can get? How about some pics? Feel like writing an article about it for my blog at 993C4S.com ?

I just traded in my 2007 Cayman S for the Boxster RS 60 in black top/grey interior and jeeezuss. I creamed on the test drive. Oooh la la. The Cayman is a sexier beast visually, but that spyder is venomous. Drives like a dream, unbelievably tight and with a siren's song!
Holy shit.

I love the description!!! Have you driven any of the newer 911s? Or any 911 for that matter? I'm curious how it compares?

Let us know.

I liked my 997s, they just feel HUGE compared to this car. This thing cuts like a knife. I have the red interior with the black top (it was the intro model that porsche gave dealers).

Hi,
I thought the 550 Spyder Boxster was the peak of Boxsters, but the RS60 is magnificent.
