Car value with stock vs. non-stock engine

I have a 1980 Trans AM pace car. The car was stock with the Pontiac 301 with the turbo. I've recently decided to rebuild the car.(Body and frame are excellent.) The turbo was removed from the engine - and intake changed - before I purchased it many years ago. My question... if I elect to go away from the stock engine and replace it with something like an LS series engine - what will this do to the value of the car? I've talked to a lot of local people but figured this group may be able to offer some sound advice. Thanks! Rebel
