We build the best cars in North America at GM Oshawa (Ontario, Canada). We are very serious about quality - it really is #1.
The Chev Impala and Monte Carlo, Buick Lacrosse (Allure in Canada) and the Pontiac Grand PRix are the best built cars you can buy. Go test drive them and buy one (of each) please. |

Cadillac and Chevrolet are brands still recognized worldwide so the focus on Buick and Pontiac is misguided. I know GM wants to sell as many cars as it can on the same platform, but it can do this building variations of a model and not waste time building clones.
Case in point, the large truck clone for Saturn is just plain wrong. Saturn started as the small car company and green/hybrids is more its image than a Tanker. GM's already selling what it can via Chev/GMC. It gives me a headache trying to see which is the better priced car for me when comparing the Chev Suburban vs GMC. It doesn't fool anyone, numbers for Chev/GMC truck had to be combined to match Ford's best seller F115. GM should adopt 1,2,3. Be 1,2, or 3 in any car model class. Make no more than 2 clones (Chev Suburban and GMC equivalent truck). Make 3 cars on the same platform (entry, standard, luxury). Make 3 cars in a line (small, mid, large) e.g. Pontiac's small SUV line there is a compact ute, lite ute, standard ute. Cadillac doesn't have a small convertible like the Solstice or a mid size like the G6 but does have a large convertible. Finally 1 : allow some 1 of a kind cars that don't have any clones, any smaller version or larger version. The Corvette comes to mind for Chev. |

GM doesn't need to flow media's advice. They are misguided, analysts advised GM to reduce incentives. Supposedly GM was buying market share with big rebates. Remember, GM was making big profits two years ago, with big rebates. Now GM is losing market share, because they followed analysts advice. GM continues to lose sales due to fewer incentives. Makeup your mind media, I wouldn't want you guys running my company. While the Big 2, cut back on rebates, Toyota is pilling them on! Foreign makers have resorted to Detroit's tatics, HaHa. What about your residuals, who cares when you get a good deal. Bob Lutz is reloading GM's lineup with Product, Quality and Style. Within three years GM's entire lineup will be all new. Don't tell me GM doesn't know what their doing, buy stock now, it will double in about two years.
