Sunfire 2003 New Owner Questions

Hi everyone! I just bought a 2003 Sunfire with a 3 month warranty (for $3,200 - not too bad I hope), and have a few 'newbie' questions.

It's a fun little car to drive and the hawk like nose is quite nice

1) The dealer supplied 2 metal keys, and no remote fob. 1 key opens the doors, the other starts the ignition. Is that normal?

2) Can I add remote, central locking by just buying a key fob off eBay and maybe another doobrey?

3) I've had my 2003 Sunfire all of a week (146k miles), and the 'check engine' LED on the dash has just come on. Everything sounds and feels fine, and I have read what the manual has to say about this being to do with keeping optimum emissions etc. I just want a second opinion from you expert folks as to what common problems with the Sunfire may cause this, and if there is any home remedy?(I have checked the oil and other levels - all seem fine.)

4) Is there any way to convert manual windows to electric windows?

Answers
1) two keys a very normal for GM veichles. Your lucky I got three!

2)If the car originally does not have a keyless entry you will need to get a module for the car.

3)The most common problem for the check engine light to come on is that the gas cap is properly. My suggestion though is find someone that has a OB2 reader and see what the problem is.

4)Yes but alot of labour though. first buying all the parts (electrical motor, switches, relays, power converter, ex.) and than ripping apart your car and cut in to the dash and door to instal switches and relays and power converter. So very pricey! but If you bent to have them it is possible.
