this guy is retarded if he paid that much for a manual conversion. find a good manual trani on ebay or something, then find another car for parts. take the shifter, cable, and master cylinder(with a clutch pedal) off and put it on your car, then put it all together. the automatic ecu will work the same, and so will the dash. unless you want to get ripped off like this guy on top of me.

im actually in the process of converting my 99 gs from an auto to a 5 speed now. So far i have everything finished except putting the motor/tranny assembly back into the car. I had to get brake and clutch pedals (a clutch sensor plug was already on the wiring harness under the dash, tucked away), a shifter assembly, the tranny, clutch/t.o. bearing, rear transmission mount, master and slave cylinders with the clutch line, the drive axles were reusable, and ive heard the only difference in the ecu's is the rev limiter, but im not too keen on just leaving the extra plugs from the auto sitting around under the hood. I also replaced the motor with one from a sebring and everything plugged except one sensor on the back of the block. So hopefully when i get it in there, everything will be like i want it! Hope this helped someone. Honestly, it was a pain in the ass and too expensive. I wish i wouldve just bought a 5 speed gsx/gst but it was a good learning experience.

Hey all, i have a 01 eclipse gs with the auto stick and was wondering how and what parts i would need to make the conversion to a full manual?

Just for a follow up, Im finished with the car and it works great! But because i have an automatic wiring harness, I have to rewire the plug and rig it to the back up sensor for reverse lights and im still tackling the speedo sensor. if anyone knows anything about this could you help me. Other than that though, the auto to manual conversion was completely successful.

I did the auto to manual swap on my 95 gst,I kept the auto harness,but it's not cranking,does anyone know what wiring needs to be rewired or jumped out,other than the neutral switch ?

dude i have a auto eclipse and i bought another thats standard. that should be all that i need for parts to swap to a manual right?

i converted my automatic 2001 eclipse gt from auto to standard. how do i wire up my reverse light i still have the auto computer in there i think thats whats trigering my shift codes would a manual computer fix them codes to pass inspection

i am in the process of getting a '98 eclipse automatic, and i have EVERYTHING to swap it over to five speed. the only thing i was wondering is how to re-do all the wiring. i don't know which wire would go where so im hoping you could help me out a little bit. thank you
