Martin Shapiro, a Board of Finance member, said "I really gave it very little thought overall."

That's not very reassuring.

Yes I have numerous things to do, which obviously including making sure that others do their job by following the same rules we are all subject to.
As an anonymous poster who can't come up with anything better than nut job, you have now gotten more attention than you deserve.

"Just happened to be browsing online financial statements, not looking for anything in particular"? No ax to grind there, I'm sure.

That was not exactly what was said but the interpretation of the reporter. I was viewing the reports that were posted on an open forum. I didn't go looking for them.

Why would you not be more concerned about a public official that thinks he is above the law. Whether there was an axe to grind or not, the claim was still valid. No false allegations were made.

A little miopic are we?

An "unaffiliated" voter does not shell out $1250.00 to one party out of the blue. She must strongly agree with Baldwin's policies to "donate" that amount of money.

Cindy is a Trumbull resident, so the fact that she made the time to look into town-related financial issues in the midst of a massive financial crisis makes her one smart lady and an asset to the town. I would reserve the term "nut job" for anyone that doesn't understand the importance of taking the time to ensure that rules are not being broken.

Cindy is not a nut job just a kool aid drinking puppet. Someone feed her a story she ran with it. Discredit all those around Ray...Shapiro this month a few months back Delvecchio. Who will be the victims for August, September, October and November. The republicans have done this for years and then they say the other side is dirty.

There are quotation marks around your words. Are you saying your were misquoted? Please admit you read about the $1250 on a blog and followed a link posted there to the report.

Crave attention much?

This is all about $250 worth of raffle tickets? You're kidding, right? Guess that makes him quite the desperado! What a joke. Anybody getting upset over this needs to get a life.

No. It's about campaign finance law and the limits you can give. That's part of life.
No joke.

The guy bought tickets for a raffle...which was open to the public. The Republicans in Trumbull are just "desperate fools at the end of their pitiful rope". They are trying to get non-elected officials to do their dirty work before the election. So if it turns out that he did in fact only buy $1000 worth of tickets, will Cindy post a retraction or apology?

That would be unlikely. What probably happens then will be...ready for it..."It's a cover-up!!!!!" OMG...what did they know and when did they know it?

Can you imagine the outcry if he actually had won the car?

This election ought to be quite the show if this petty crap is starting already. Also, thats quite an outstanding bit of research for an unaffiliated voter, don't you think? Unaffiliated my foot.

No I will not apologize or retract anything. This was avalid report, based on information submitted to the State of Connecticut by the Treasurer of the Democratic Town Committe.

She is aware of the rules and still posted a number of $1250.00. If it was an erro as Mr. Shapiro has said, then why did she not double check the number before submitting the report.

I do not have a crystal ball. If she made the mistake the accusation was based on their internal report, not one that was made up.

Secondly, anyone that thinks I can be used as a puppet for anyone, does not know me and has never met me.

Would you have been happier if it was $2500.00? Would that make it not ok with you?

At what point do you think we should start holding our officials accountable? Give them some guidelines so they know what the limit is that they can go beyond the law and not be held responsible.(That is why this town is in the shape it is. We always let the little stuff go and now we have control freaks who think they own the town.)

I can guarantee you that if you had done the same thing HE would have been the first to file a report

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Capricorn

You'll have a fabulous time if you're longing to see what's on offer in the sales, especially if you want to buy yourself some new clothes or cosmetics. However, you won't pay much attention to how much you're spending, and may even deliberately avoid thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go overboard if you can't afford it.
