I have a 2001 PT Cruiser - I have 3 cracks - the first going from the vent to the front panel - the second and third from the center vent on top to the windshield at opposite angles - told Chrysler - they said tough - no longer in warranty. This is the last Chrysler product I will ever buy.

My daughter has a 2001 300M and she also had a crack right by the air bag on the passager side. She has contacted the company 3 times and was told they wouldn't fix it as it was out of warranty. She finally had it repaired locally but you can still see where it had been and the repairman said he repairs about 30 of them a year and all in the same place on the chysler vehicles. What steps can a person do to get the company to stand behind their products? Anyone had any luck in this situation? She is also worried it could cause a problem with the air bag if she would get into an accident.

Has anybody had any problems with the steering on their 300M? I have 27,000 miles on my 2000 and the steering has play in it then it grabs. I have also noticed my steering wheel dosen't lock when the ignition is turned off anymore. My wheels also rotted out from the inside. I had to relace them. My car is garage kept too! Also, the leather on the steering wheel is all cracked. Any one else have the same problems?

I also will not be buying anymore Chrysler products for this reason and the fact that I had to replace the air conditioning evaporator last summer. Everyone I know who has a Chrysler product has had problems with the air conditioning. About 2 years ago my 1995 Ram's dash began cracking badly, thinking mine may be an isolated case, I began to look at other Ram dashes, oh man, there is a real problem here. I live in Texas, it is hot and the a/c has not falterd in 11 years but the dash is turning to crap.

They say it is my evaporator and that it will be about $1100-$1200. Did you have the same problem and did the evaporator fix it? How much was your repair? Thanks. Steve

I have a dodge ram 1500, 2002. I have 100,000+ miles on it and just this summer of all summers in Texas the AC started to go out. The odd thing is, is that it runs if I am driving 45+ mph. Do you guys know what that could mean or what I need to do to fix it. Would I need an evaporator? Second thing, I have a crack as well on top of my DASH AS WELL! I couldn't believe it. I treat my truck like a baby and then yesterday there is a crack! Its on the passagner side right above the air bag. Does anyone else have this problem as well? How much does a replacement peace cost?

Everyone I know who has a Chrysler product has had problems with the air conditioning. My mechanic just told me that coolant is leaking out of the evaporator in my 2000 300M. He says that he can't fix it and so I must take it back to the dealer. Did you also require dealer service? About how much did it cost? Thanks.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram. I baby the heck out of it. I have had a dash cover on it since the day I bought it. I also always use a window screen. Two weeks ago I notced a crack in the dash by the passenger side air bag. I checked today and the entire dash split into about 6 pieces. No matter what any one says, a newer vehicle should dissenigrate by itself. Poor quality - Cheap plastic is the cause. Not to mention I have also had to shell out over $2100.00 in repairs even though it is serviced exactly as the mfr states. No wonder american car manufacturers are going down the toilet.

I have a 1999 Chrysler Concorde LXI and it has always been garaged. Had a crack start on the right hand passenger side last year. Took it to a repair guy today and he wouldn't work on it. Said that he has seen numerous Chrysler / Dodge cars and trucks with this problem. He said that if he repaired it, it would just start cracking again or in another place. They told me that they had just replaced a dash on another Chrysler and it was $1500... Not sure if anything I can do with it. Might just get a dash cover later when it gets worse. Rusty

I own a 2001 Ram While you may be responsible for repairs after warranty, manufacturers need to realize that if you buy a vehicle with a 5 year payment plan ( the average) and before you make the last payment, Non-wear parts shatter you will not purchase their product again, by dash is in a dozen pieces. I have a 10 year old Lexus with no major failures of any kind, all the plastic parts are still in good shape. I will not buy another Dodge.

My 2001 Dodge Ram has MAJOR dash cracking. Truck is usually in a warehouse and not often exposed to the sun. It only has 44K miles on it. Dash has always had UV protection installed as it is a "show truck" I'm deeply diasppointed in Dodge!!
