$60,000 to $70,000 a year at a warehouse???? No wonder American cars can'e be competitive. At least I know they have a job opening now.

Despite making pretty good coin he went out of his way to slam Ford.

Buy a Ford? Don't ask the man who owns one. Ask the man who builds them. Any response from the UAW?

A million each to some co-workers? He should have waited a couple of weeks to avoid knee-jerk decisions. He owes them nothing. I hope his kids get something now (not wait til inheritance) and of course EX wife zilch. For those who question his salary; they didn't mention his particular job which in a large warehouse could mean much more responsibility than just a handler.

Never mind the years of insurance, benefits, and the stability of a job he had...what an ungrateful jerk.

I don't know what Ford is like. But if it's like my last job - every meeting started with a reminder that your jobs are temporary, and there's no guarantee we'll need you tomorrow - and you should be working harder for me....Job and benefits, yes. But walking out same day makes me wonder what kind place it was to work.

Good for you David.I hope you do the right thing and live off of the interest and not blow the money and wind up broke like so many others who had to return back to work, be wise and take the 5% per year interest and live like a King, do not start spending, live off of the interest and every month you will get a fresh batch of disposable income that will never end.

I have been playing the lotto for years and eventually hope to win.
Good Luck,
Rick..

Ford who up until the day before yesterday was paying him with a nice salary as well as paying sky HIGH medical premiums for he and his family!

well, I guess now he can afford to bite the hand that fed and provided for them.

It does say a lot about Ford products when a 34 year employee won't buy one.

Sneath plans to buy a cottage on Mullett Lake in northern Michigan. Good for him. Since "Sneak" doesn't like Ford products, go buy a Toyota, and shove it up your Mullett, you ingrate bas+ard!

I have to imagine the atmosphere at Ford was rather unpleasant, with all the cutbacks and layoffs. Management looking at union employees and thinking, "No wonder we can't compete...", not too warm and cuddly.

After the good fortune of winning a $135 million windfall, I hope he doesn't waste any more time slamming Ford. If nothing else, his ex coworkers are still there. Enjoy the good in life, and let Ford reap whatever it has sown...

He probably doesn't think he owes it to them, he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart.

They corrected the story,

(This version corrects quote from Sneath. He said he wouldn't be buying a foreign product. He did NOT say he wouldn't buy a Ford product.)

I guess he hopes that with that, they will not then be suing him for 4/5ths of the $136 million.

I just saw the correct version on Yahoo/AP, & came back to post it. The Tribune version has been updated too.

You beat me to it...
