What, you must have worked for them and lost your job and now take your anger out on the company and people that still work there, and ford don't need a bailout like the other two.they will do just fine.

The new Explorer will also be built at this plant in mid to late 2010. So the plant will continue to run one shift until mid 2010 when the Explorer production will require a shift of its own. The new Taurus will increase sales dramatically with it's redesign in mid 2009 and once the economy turns around the well received Lincoln MKS will start moving closer to 3500 units a month if not more. Depending on the success of the new Taurus this plant will be back on two shifts in mid 2010 at the latest.

When I worked at Ford there were as many foreign cars in the lot as Fords. The Chairman of UAW local 863 was seen driving in a VW, took a lot of heat, and apparently got rid of it. I worked there for 6 years and drove a Toyota. Somebody broke my radio antenna off, and I once got a note on my car that my family would be killed if I did not get rid of the "Jap Crap." I did not. But I did purchase a military.45 and never leave home without it. I knew guys that worked at Ford and drove Fords, but before they bought them crawled underneath to look at the bell housing on the transmission. They would not own a Ford that had a transmission built at Sharonville, where they worked, because they knew the kind of junk that was built there.

I think you're the moron.. first learn to spell moron.. 2nd I work for Ford as well and judging by your short comings you obviously don't have any dignity if you refuse to stand along side your UAW brothers and sisters who day in and day out labor through all these ups and downs. But to have some one like you saying you much prefer buying forgein? How about quit the job that pays your bills, which is FORD you moron!

Dear Sir
If you are stupid and liberal enough to purchase a vehicle knowing full well your dollars are supporting another country, Then FOR SURE you are indeed a Liberal ****.. Sorry sometimes the truth hurts

This is correct
These pukes do not give a damm about their country
They should all pack up and move to asia
We can all take up a collection and get them their.
They appear to adore socialism/communism
They drive cars that support that.
So if thats what they want then we should give it to them, My buddy is a cop and 90% of drug busts are on people who have drugs in their imported car. Non smoking liberals, None US supporting economy ruining liberals, These are the drug people. I saw a Sion on fire on my way to work today and smiled, it was wonderful to see.
Since these liberal fcks made such an issue with ford. I hope all Sions burn!
People who drive this communistic BS are drug taking liberals. They are willing to purchase a car from companies that funnel monies to Iran for Terrorism... wow great Americans

y is it when toyota, honda, or nissan have a recall, they get the least amount of media cover coverage? but when 1 of the big 3 have a recall it is front page news! toyota can't keep up with demand & their quality is showing it. I have worked for ford for 10 years & I can see the difference in quality versus production. ask any auto worker that has been laid off due to sales. we can't afford it. any american that buys a foreign car should get their head examined. all you're doing is contributing to the economic troubles. we should have stricter regulations like the fcking japs. "you're car is too wide for our roads. so sorry"

OK, I cant stand the fact that any foriegn car is sold in the states, even more so for the asian cars. Yes the big three got caught with thier pants down when it came to qualiy and design. but as far as ford goes thier new ceo has turned ford right arround. The quality is excellent period. Fords designers and engineers have made unbelievable progress in just five years. I work on them day in and day out. I understand we need competition to keep prices down, but heck with buying foriegn, buy the big three specifficaly ford. I also thing we should start making our own steel in our plants, thats right we closed them down and started buying steel from those asian countries we sold our scrap too. Open pittsburg back up hire thousands hint ford make your your own parts hire more people. let the foriegn countries fend for them selves and bring our parts industry back home.

I could not agree with you more. I grew up in Pittsburgh when steel mills lit up the rivers for 10 miles, 24 hours per day, and employed 50,000 steelworkers. But here is my question. Who is responsible for the loss of all this? I worked at Ford in the 70s making C4 transmissions. I can tell you that we made some real junk. The steel from the River Rouge plant was flaked, thinned out, and we made parts out of them anyway. Ford wanted cheaper, cheaper, cheaper and bought junk components that I had to put men on sorting them out. Problem was, NONE of the crap was any good. So who was responsible for this? Who was responsible when American car buyers searched for reliability and quality and could not find it in Detroit? Look in the mirror, pal, because we did it to ourselves, and now we cry FOUL. Who was responsible for the high cost of American cars when auto workers got paid for 8 hours, and actually worked 4 or 5 hours? We had to get their butts out of the crappers, where they were drinking, playing poker, and sleeping. Who is responsible? Who is responsible when guys that wear white shirts, never did a day's work in their lives, and make $1,000,000 in Dearborn? Who is responsible? WE ARE. Stop whining and lay in the bed that we have made. Maybe our kids will see what we did wrong and get us back to the America that we USED to be: hard working, building the best stuff in the world.

So any American that buys a foreign car needs his head examined. The demand for head examiners will jump, because people are buying Toyotas made by Americans in Kentucky, Hondas made by Americans in Indiana and Ohio, Mercedes made by Americans in South Carolina. So what foreign cars are you talking about? The Fords made in Turkey and Argentina? The GMs made in China? I would never buy a foreign car like a Ford or a Chevy made in Argentina or Mexico or China. So I won't be needing to have my head examined. I buy American made cars, like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.

This is what I think about the situation.

I grew up in a family that only bought fords. F-150, ranger, explorer, a couple of escorts and tauras.

I now drive a BMW. Reason, ford continues to build vehicles with the single motivation of moving units for the cheapest, and it shows. They continue to put the same outdated design on the same old chasis, using the same old electronics, and the same old names... expect them to move.

I mean, how can a company really think that having 3 brands making the same vehicle as a good thing? Mercury Grand Marquise, Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car???

When I get in my car, I want to feel the engineering put into building it, I want to see a design, fit, and finish that makes me WANT to drive it.

How can all of the foreign car companies offer vehicles with updated, stylish, modern designs, engineering and mechancial/electrical systems? How can the foreigners build cars that last hundreds of thousands of miles with relativily no issues?

I have driven fords, used to own one, and at 100K miles, every panel in the car rattled, the steering wheel shook, and the seats were worn out.

This tells the consumer that Ford is only interested in selling units by markets as many brands as they can, recycling old designs, making cars with a life of 100K miles before its unbearable to drive, in order to push more units.

Ford wants to be successful? Give the drivers what they want in a product, that lasts and looks good, and is functional and comfortable.
