Does anyone know how I gat get a Sprinter Scanner?<quoted text>
It is really easy since it is a cartridge type filter and not a spin on. When you look in the engine compartment you will see, towards the front of the engine on the right side facing it, a black plastic cap about the size of an oil filter. The hardest part is getting the cap off, but it can be made easy by getting the correct size oil filter wrench (I use a cap style that fits on the end of my 3/8's drive) open that up, lift it out, and you will see the filter. Just slide the old filter off replace all of the "O" rings (they come with the filter) replace the filter, tighten things up and you are good to go.

My 05 sprinter box truck, (has an aluminum 12 box) now has 40,000 miles on it. It gets 15 MPG 17 with the summer blend of diesel fuel. goes through brakes on all 4 wheels every 15-20,000 miles. Needs struts now and a glow plug. This truck is well within its rated weight capabilities. Everything in it used to be in a normal ford E350 van. This truck has been very expensive to maintain not to mention much more expensive than the competition. I'll never buy another one of these light duty vehicles. Located in willington connecticut USA.

Good to know your mileage has improved. Richard |

The gas v6 engine someone said needs high octane. What would happen if you used regular gas only in it? Im looking to purchase a 2008 sprinter with the crew seats. But Now I Dont know which engine to get. GAS or DIESEL?

I have a 2007 sprinter 170 diesel, not getting more than 11 mile in the city, use ulsd.

Our 04 printer got 28mpg yesterday doing a steady 55mph on the interstate for 300m- probably everyone passing us thought we couldn't peddle any faster but we were experimenting. Last summer we pulled a trailer and hauled 2 kayaks on top and got 15mpg-but with the almost $5 diesel we decided to get serious about conserving. the 28 is is good as my 02 Camray with a lot more space. |

I recently changed oil in a 2008 sprinter 2500 diesel, now the oil warning light will come on sporadically after 20 or so miles. It is not over full and I used good oil, so what gives? Any help will be nice.

It sure would be nice if we got the 4 cylinder diesel that they sell in Europe. Much better MPG and very good power.

I have a 06 sprinter with high roof, 3500 dually, 5 cyl diesel about 45k miles. My last best tank was 600 miles mix driving and never over 65 mph. always top off when i fill up and get 25.5 gallons. Once i even got 26 gallons in it. fill up when the arrow touch the bottom line graduation. I have 50% left on the break. In a general rule ( 95% of the time ) I get always 500 mile or more.
over all extremely happy with the truck. The truck is always loaded with tools and material. Thanks |

My 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 diesel gets around 16 to 17 mpg winter and 18 to 19 mpg summer. I assumed the addition of the Dodge emblems is what caused the reduction in mileage I saw others were getting with their 2006's. It's still a far cry better then my 10 mpg Dodge Ram.

I have a 2004 with a 12 ft. flat bed. We use it for service work so it's stop and go all day. We only see about 14 mpg on a good day, which is better then or 6 litter chevy's at 5 to 7 mpg.

.
You would get 30 mpg if the USA got the 2.2 liter diesel that thet sell in Europe. . |
