VW pushes back U.S. launch of 2008 Jetta TDI

Diesel fans are going to have to hold out a little longer for the return of Volkswagen's Jetta TDI in the U.S. According to an E-mail from VW execs to their North American dealer network that was posted on the ... via Motor Trend

Little too late or ' too little too late '

The car is, will be in its 5th model year at a 2009 offering, better to wait for the next generation Jetta at this point or consider that Volvo may introduce an S-40 diesel for probably only 3000.00 or so more soon ( more than rumor )...

Honda will have the cleanest diesel on the planet for the US too in 2009, no UREA injection or expensive particulate filter Honda has promised.

Wait wait wait VW has made you wait this far !

I beleive the Jetta TDI sedan and sports wagon models will be available in May,half way through the sedans life cycle,but at the beginning of the wagons .
They should both sell up a storm.

I was only partly right... Acura will put the same diesel in the new TSX as will be in the new Accord a 2.2 I believe; from ' Auto Week ' it self too !

It will be only front drive for now, the new TSX gasoline will be an AWD option this time.

Maybe an AWD diesel TSX will follow ?

The car will launchin Spring possibly, it will make the March auto show.

So VW ' you snooze, you loose '!
