Well, they did win the truck category and they should. That's their last stronghold and if GM wants to stay afloat, they better be winning awards for the best truck money can buy.

They need to expand that success to include cars.

No wonder we are at the bottom of the ratings.
Its not just gas -guzzling tank size mentality. I want to buy a ford explorer 2008- guess what- Ford offers no choice in Interior colors- You get tan or beige(stone). No gray or black. look at the brochures You get what they want you to have. I presently drive a 1996 explorer over 200,000 miles. I have done my partfor the environment by keeping my vehicle tuned and operating it beyond 10 years. I am considereing other makers just because of choices available. WAKE up Ford-

I LOVE MY SIENNA! Okay, I SWORE I would never be the minivan driving mom. It is amazing! It handles so well. All my friends tease me about it, until they get in it. I feel so spoiled by it and I know my daughter is safe. I just cannot wait to get that Lexus I have had my eye on....ha ha ha

I worked for General Motors for 15 years in power train development. On countless occasions, we would have design directives stating that cost and performance was more important than reliability. Thats the general consensus among American car builders. If you want a reliable American car, you need to get rid of the labor unions that are driving up the price.
Either way......If the workers were paid abit less, then they would have more money to put into quality and would make a better car,,although if they spent abit more and increased quality, most people would have no problem paying abit more for a chevy, ford or dodge if the quality was abit better.
