2000 Miata poor throttle response on startup

occasionally starts with check engine light flashing and poor throttle response. goes away when engine reaches operating temp. any ideas? Thanks in advance.

its because your motor is cold. thats just what happens.
be careful not to rev too high before the motor is warm. that is a GREAT way to blow your motor up.
