Chrysler cars are getting much better! Besides who else will give you a lifetime powertrain warranty? Only Chrysler!!! Their styling is hotter than anything else on the road from any other manufacturer! The 300 super hot, as is the PT Cruiser, and the Crossfire is another hot design! Show me any Honda that actually has hot styling, and i'll sell you a Bridge!

I've worked on both American cars and Japanese cars. The Japanese have auto mechanics down to a science. Their parts are reliable and well-built. You can see the quality in the engineering.

American cars? Pffffttt...what trash.

The PT Cruiser and Crossfire are so hot, they're being discontinued.

Bill
It's not Honda's fault the American Auto companies abandoned the car segment to focus on what was then the most profitable segment (SUV and Trucks) of the industry. Believe me, if GMC,FORD,or CHYSLER could charge Honda-like prices for their vehicles, they would. Blame them (US Automakers) for pouring crap after crap on the market for years. I see all their attempts now (Malibu,Fusion,Avenger, etc) but what about back then? When it comes to something economical, the Japanese are far more superior than domestics!

You just like working on the rice burners because only mechanics can work on those, At least with domestics the drivers can change the oil and do simple repairs, unlike the asian junk, that costs more then double for parts! I think you should move to Japan or korea and be a mechanic there;-). Oh u know what, they probably wouldn't even hire ya!, just like they don't buy american products!

Nobody can reasonably say that American cars are better than Japanese cars. Japanese cars are FAR superior to American cars. The difference between the two is vast.

Id LOVE to buy an American car, and there is promise in models like the Ford Edge. But Ive had Hondas for ten years with ZERO issues.

And its NOT the "American worker" at fault here. Anyone know where the Accord is assembled? OHIO. Its poor designs and bad engineering.

Oh Bill...Honda's leases are some of the CHEAPEST out there. You can get an Accord with no money down, 15,0000 miles,$1,500 down for about $200/month.

Dont be so ignorant. If Americans made better cars, more Americans would buy them. Its that simple.

You MUST be a Chrysler salesman! Otherwise, you'd know that they're discontinuing the Crossfire and if they don't get their parts supplier problems fixed very soon, they'll be Chapter 11. Then what will your "lifetime" warranty be worth?

You might be right. They have a better crop of people in Asia than they do here in the US...

Mercedes dumped chrysler because they were dragging down their good name and product. Chrysler is now owned by an investment bank. They make a low end product, you'd have to be crazy to buy a chrysler instead of a good car.

they are discontinuing the pt cruiser convertible, crossfire and the magnum....i am very surprised about the magnum....it really is nice twist to a old fashion muscle car....the magnum w/hemi has power and handles really well...i guess some people were turned off because of the station wagonish look....i would love to buy one and stash it in my garage..very fun to drive

I am surprised of this article,
I have owned 3 civics in the last 9 years, and they all had transmission problems, especially the 2001 civic. If you reach 50,000 miles without no transmission problems thats a miracle.
Crash wise maybe they are good, but If you buy honda you know you will have transmission problems.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SEL, which is going on 145,000 miles and I'm pretty pleased with it's reliability. Yes, I had a transmission failure about 5,000 miles ago, but 140,000 miles of driving in NY probably equates to 300,000 miles elsewhere.
I had a 1991 Nissan Maxima that kept breaking water pumps and I replaced the electronic window mechanisms (makes the windows go up or down) six times!

I guess you could say, there are good American cars and bad Japanese cars.

show me a chrysler that lasts as long as a honda or toyota (mine has 180K on it and never a major issue) and i'll sell you a nice swamp in jersey.

Isn't that funny. I own a 2003 Honda Accord, never had any problems.

I also own a 2000 Dodge Ram that I've had to rebuild the tranny 3 times.

Those jap cars are crap and that shit magazine is a asian owned shill designed to ruin whats left of the American car market for the scumbag globalists. Hondas suck are overpriced, cramped and cost a fortune when it comes time to replace parts. Go lease a jap mobile and kiss your grandchildrens future goodbye. He can use it to drive to the unemployment or welfare office. ANy fool that needs the editors of this garbage pubilcations to advise them on how to buy a car is a total moron. Now go lease your Honda baby boomers. It fits in witht he rest of the destruction you self absorbed scum have caused to America.

Bill, I've always owned American cars and got stuck with all of them with the exception of a Lincoln Mark VIII. The Lincoln now has 436,000 miles on it and I had some problems with it so I put it in the drive, took the plates off and bought a 2007 Honda Civic. I plan to do some work on the Lincoln to get it on the road again but I'm VERY leary about buying any American made car. I had bought a Chevy Blazer new in 1982 and had nothing but problems with it. Twenty six years later and the Blazers still have the same engine, cooling system, transmission, problems. GM did nothing in 26 years to correct their shoddy work. I had a 1974 Buick Regal that rusted apart before I finished making the payments and lets not forget the dealerships wanted nothing to do with you after you drove away with your new car.
