Hey everyone. Which models of the 2007 Mazda 3 have the TPMS on them? I would like to get winter tires and I noticed some people say the TPMS light in the dashboard stays on if you do not hook up the TPMS in your winter tires. I have a 2007 Mazda 3 GT Black Mica and want winter tires.

the tpms is attatched to the wheel, not the tire. So no matter what tire you use the sensor is fully capable of monitering the pressure. however, you must set the correct psi in order for the light to stay off. this is the psi in the door, not the tire max psi.

I have winter tires on my 07 Mazda3 and the TPMS light just stays on but I ignore it, no big deal. If you want sensors installed in the tire it costs quite a bit more.

I just bought a new Mazda3 Hatchback a month ago. Since day one, the TPMS warning light comes on and off, and stays lit, on the original tires. Is it really no big deal to stay lit, is it safe? I brought it back to a dealership and they ran some tests, couldn't detect a problem, and reset the TPMS module. But the warning light still comes on.

Hi faye,

I am having the same problem with the TPMS on my 2007 Mazda3 GT 3 door. Did your dealer ever fix the problem for you? What was it? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem too - tires seem fine, but monitor comes on and stays on. Mystified. Does Mazda know about this?

My girlfriend's 3 has this problem where the light goes on and off arbitrarily, staying on for days at a time, or for minutes. Goes on if she goes over a bump, or when she puts it in reverse, etc.(really, for no reason associated with tire pressure, except maybe the bump). We check the tire pressure and it's supposed to go off if they're all at 32psi, but it doesn't. We've had it into the dealer here in Las Vegas three times for this problem, and they send us away with different stories every time--never fixing it. One mechanic said the PSI tolerance was +/-2psi, another said +/-5psi. I'd prefer the 5psi story, as this would be less annoying. Today when we dropped it at the dealer to fix this very problem the psi was 26.88 in one tire, but the light wasn't on. Instead of asking themselves why the light wasn't on, the dealership said "see, there's nothing wrong you just didn't have the tires inflated properly." Personally, I think this technology is a waist. It'll never warn of a catastrophic blowout, and any idiot can look at a tire and see that it's too low to be safe. I suppose I wouldn't be feeling this way if the technology worked.

I have a 2006 Mazda hatchback. I have had it into the dealer 6 times to get the low pressure monitor repaired. I wonder if it's a problem with Mazda engineering. If you really wanted to, you could pursue lemon law compensation at this point.

Hi Jerry,
I'm thinking about getting steel wheels with winter tires for my Mazda3s GT 5 Dr, but I don't want to spend the extra $$ for the TPMS sensors.

Have you had any other problems other then the TPMS light staying lit? Does it beep or flash just after starting the car, because that could get annoying...

Any problems putting the stock 17" rims and tires back on for the summer? Did the TMPS work fine again?

Thanks!

Actually on the Mazda 3 it is not on the wheel, the pressure sensor is where the valve stem would be on a wheel without. It replaces the valve stem. I found this out when I had to get a new wheel and tire and didn't realize to get the pressure sensor off my other tire, thinking that it was in the wheel.

I see a lot of people having problems with the pressure monitoring system. I haven't had this problem but it seems like one of the pressure sensors has a bum battery to me. I'd ask the dealership to put new batteries in all four and see if that helps.

Also check your spare tire's pressure to see if it's within the 32 psi.

I just got this new 2010 mazda 3 one week, and the tire pressure light is on, so weird. The dealer said its the problem of temperature. but i dont think so.
