I own a 2005 Escape xlt and my back window exploded out just sitting in the parking lot at my work. The police viewed our camera footage and noone was ever around it. Thank goodness this didn't happen the day before when i had my grandkids in the back seat or I was driving down the road I would of had a heartattack!!! I need help in this repair, I know this is not a one time incident I found more stories. This should be a recall on these models.

WE own a 2004 Explorer XLT. One week ago , the day we were to drive to Boston General Hospital, 1/4 mile from our house, it hesitated and started to shake! The car had been fine, not a sound, shimmy, or warning! We had it towed to the local
ford dealer, get yhis, even with it assessed on the computer, they had no idea what was wrong with it.$525.00, plus another tow to aq local garage we trust. More cash for towing and a look, it was a basically hopeless case. After calling around to various car places , we found out that 04 Exploers are konking out right around and upon reaching 75 thousand miles! We were not the only ones! We were advised not to put a 2nd hand engine in it either. It would most likely do the same thing.$825.00 later we are without a car, 3 person household and OEF VET 100% disabled, paying still on a dead 04 car, no Ford dealer will help get us into a new car.Even with my husband belonging to the DAV! Which states in it,s membership, buy a Ford 0%&1500 off. Ripoff it really is. Beware of Ford Products. WE owned a Focus, the recallarama car. Signed Sranded!

Sounds like your vehicle was parked in the sun with all the windows up on a very hot day. Going down the road however, there would have been air circulation in the vehicle while the windows are down, or cooler air with the a/c on, so I believe that would not have been a problem. In closing you can find out more about this if you contact a local dealer service department for more information.

Just trying to be helpful, but anytime you take your vehicle to a service facility, you should get a DETAILED explanation (That you understand)of their findings where it applies to your vehicle. Same goes for the charges that are on the bill. Too many people complain about repair charges, then when disatisfied, go to another shop only to get ticked off again because they can not (or do not)explain to the next shop what was done to the first shop. It wouldn't hurt to explain what the original problem was. Hope this helps.

I have a 2000 Ford F450 with the 6.8 V10 engine.
My problem, while driving on the surface street at about 35mph I noticed the check engine lite come on, after additional investigation I see the Overdrive light flashing OFF on the end of the gearshift as well as the speed odmotor was nok working, I found a safe place to pull over and checked under the hood, under the chassie and found nothing, checked all of the fuses under the dash as well as under the hood found nothing.
What can be the problrm, and how do I repair it.
Thank You
Russ B.

I rececently purchased an 2003 F-250 XLT 4X4. It has had more trouble than three Kia's and a Focus put together.
The latest is that the wonderful engineers at Ford, when they designed the the overdrive wiring harness, they simply drilled a hole in the side of the shifter handle and ran the wires through it into the steering column without any protective coating around the metal shaft.. Guess what, from shifting the truck in and out of gear for six years the the wires are now shorting out and the windows won't work and neither will the radio, until you hit a bump, then everything comes on until you hit another one.$167.00 for the shifter handle, and $123.00 for installation. Amazing how that adds up to a even $300.00 bill with no recall in site.

I received a recall letter for my 93 Ford van pertaining to the cruise control being a possible fire hazard. I took it to my local Ford dealership for repair as instructed. They told me the necessary repairs resolved the issue. It then burned to the ground 36 hours later. I thought the purpose of the recall was to fix the fire issue not cause one!

Perhaps a check for DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) might be in order. They'll a least point you in the right direction. The computer may not be getting input from the speed sensor.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
