So soon china may be doubling their demands for oil. Human race just won't/can't last much longer than a century.

I think my 2014 Ford Fusion 1.5 ecoboost four cylinder must have been made in China, actual mpg on this piece of junk ford 22.3.
I have had such stupid replies from Ford Customer Service( LOL ) as to the reason why I get such horrid gas mileage on this new Ford Fusion
that I am waiting for their next lame story,I think I know what that will be "The gas in the tank comes from China" But Ford Customer Service does say that they are sorry that I am having problems with the very poor gas mileage...they don't say they will fix it...just that they are sorry!
Best over the road ( average mpg ) is 26,what a joke,on a 60 mile round trip I got an actual 22.3 mpg and this is a 1.5 ecoboost 4 cyl.
I tried not letting the rpm not go over 3000 between shifts and kept the rpm under 2000 on the road for 3/4 of a tank of gas and still got just over 22 mpg,on a very long trip I managed to get a high of 26 mpg WOW I had a 1964 Galaxie 289 that would get 25 mpg,a 2002 Dodge mini van with 24 mpg,etc but Ford refuses to do anything except to say they are sorry...and this is Ford Motor Company, not the dealership Ford Motor Company! After we purchase a product and we are unhappy Customer Service is all we have left,In the case of Ford Motor Company I don't have that option! 2014 1.5 eco boost 4 cyl Ford Fusion What a sorry joke!!! Must be the gas from China! Last Ford for me!!!

I am amazed at how people get up in arms about fuel economy... Have you not paid attention to EPA "estimates" in the past 30-years??? They always error out on the high side... And when comparing older cars with the Fusion (or any new car for that matter) you're comparing apples and oranges. Older cars, albeit arguably longer and wider in mass, were/are comparatively hollow shells. People need to check the actual curb weights - a Ford Explorer...or other "mid-size" SUV/crossover, etc... often come in at over the two ton mark... I hate to bust anyone's bubble, but that is the weight of a 1977 (then "downsized") Chevrolet Caprice...or any other GM B or C-body full size car... If one thinks about it... A whole lot of Americans love weight....and style...and grouse about the fuel economy...and more often than not (within the same breath) say they just LOVE their car... and they keep filling up!! The fuel economy numbers are simply "claims" from the manufacturer that are advertised either on commercials, ads or window stickers....of what the US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY has "tested and published. Perhaps Ford is "sorry" ... But perhaps you should be calling and expressing your frustrations to the EPA. That agency he's been plagued with lies and deceit for decades.
I have a 13 Fusion Titanium with the 2.0L EcoBoost... and I've gotten 29.8 on the open highway... Not bad, considering that I am an admittedly moderately aggressive driver...
If you want high fuel economy, buy and drive a Prius...that way you can become one of "those" stigmad "environmental" drivers that the rest of us get stuck behind !!!! LOL
