If the leak is coming from drivers side firewall then its your "degas" bottle, goes by overflow tank to others. Very common on LS's ,like 110 dollars for part. Hope you bet the crap out of that C.

My 2005 LS is having two issues. The air conditioner is blowing hot air and the parking brake does not always release. On occasion the "service parking brake" light comes on and only goes off when I shut down. Does anyone know what might be the cause(s) of either of these problems and any solutions? Thank you.

hi everone i have a lincoln ls 2003 v8 3.9 eng and it was running good now its not and it says etc system mode failed does any knows what that means iam going crazy
Usually when this car goes into fail safe mode its one of two things the coils and plugs or the engine overheating. The coils and plugs would be my guess, especially if it is running rough.

Is the air conditioner blowing hot on one side and cooler on the other or just hot on both sides. if its hot on one side and cold on the other your going to need a dual climate control valve which controls both the passenger and drivers side climate tempatures. ive seen alot of problems with the parking brake light coming on I know it might be hard to belive but i have seen problems with the dual climate control valve interferring with the parking brake system

Steve, The headgaskets in your motor hardly ever go. If I was you I would look to see if your engine has the optional engine oil cooler. This unit will be right above your oil filter. This unit runs coolant thru it to cool oil. If an o'ring goes bad you will get oil in antifreeze. Also the reason no antifreeze in oil is a matter of pressure. Cooling system average press 16psi,oil pressure 80 and up psi. So 80psi will always overcome 16psi.

actually on this car surprising its not to difficult. if your standing in front of the car look down and to the right of the radiator. its on the bottom but easliy accessible from the top. no problem. ive been working on these cars for 5yrs now and I have to be honest if it wasnt for the money we make off of these cars I wouldnt be in the business anymore.

Hi guys, I am currently looking at purchasing either a Lincoln LS or Jaguar Type-S. I went and looked at a 2000 LS yesterday. It has 114k miles (very high in my opinion), but is very clean inside and out, and runs VERY well (good power/shifting). However, there are some issues.
-Clock spring is bad. I know this is a cheap/pretty easy fix.
-The CEL is on. I have no way to read the codes, but the guy said it was a catalytic converter code. The CEL was on indicating an 02 sensor, that was replaced, then it came back on indicating a cat--the car is only getting 15mpg.
-He said that when the A/C is on, the car will indicate it is overheating. I did drive it, and it remained in good operating temp, but I didn't have the A/C on.
The place that he listed it required a price, and he put $5,200 on it, but he said he knows it isn't worth that and I believe I can get it very cheap. If I can fix these issues above pretty cheap/painless, I'm okay with purchasing it... pretty much what I want is a reliable car for ~2 years/50k miles. I am a big fan of preventitive maintenance, so transmission fluid, filter, etc will be replaced immediately upon purchase.
Please give me advice about the repairs needed... thanks in advance guys!
Tyler honestly after working on these cars for the past 5 years I would not recommend buying the car ecspecailly with an overheating problem which may be caused by the cooling fan(about 500 dollars) yeah the clockspring is an easy fix but becareful there are some ls that have an airbag light on and a clockspring code but putting a clockspring on it doesnt always fix it theres an updated connector for the seat belt pretensior under the drivers seat that may also set the airbag light off. Catalytic converters for this car are not cheap and if you go buy an aftermarket one i can guarentee you it wont last more than a year. All and all I would not put any money into this car no matter how clean it is. The next thing to go is the transmission.

I couldnt really tell you Larry. Its just not a well designed car. Now dont get me wrong there were a few years that I havent seen problems with them. but then again you have to think why they stopped making them in 06. I know they look nice and alot of them ride nice theres just to much that could and will go wrong and usually when it does its all around the same time.
