"Land Rover Freelander was the vehicle to invent the premium compact SUV. While already a classic, the British off-roader goes completely new with a second generation. It may be more of an evolution than a revolution in design, but it was completely reengineered from the ground up. Ready to redefine the segment it has invented, the Land Rover Freelander 2 comes with a dynamic design, purposeful stance, smart and spacious interior, and an abundance of advanced technologies to complete the package..."

This is from an exclusive detailed review on the 2006 new Freelander 2 from Land Rover. You can read about it's design, performance and tuning recommandations, and also view a photo gallery and intro movie on the SUV.

I have an 03 freelander, I have had every problem imagineable with this car. I thought I had just picked a lemon, but apparently there are alot of owners having the same exact problems. Land Rover North America, has treated me so poorly & basically blamed me for all of the problems I've had with my freelander. I urge any Freelander or Land Rover owner to contact & complain to the FTC. The Freelander is not a safe car, It has died on me going 70 MPH on the highway, I had no steering, no brakes, no control of anything. My brake lights went out & the switch was on recall, a recall that had been recalled twice. I called Land Rover N.A. thier response was "Drive your other car." I don't have another car, unfortunately. the next response was "Drive carefully!" Thanks alot, I always do. The back passenger side window dropped & shattered with my 2 yr old niece sitting next to it. The gear motor had twisted around itself & busted, they wanted $500 to fix it. I replaced the engine at 48,000 miles it was still under the original factory warranty. Land Rover squirmed there way out of that one, they stated that It was negligence on my part, improper care & maintenance. I had all of the paper work to prove that I had done everything according to thier maintenance schedule. They had my car for 6 months, I got a rebuilt engine and paid $6,500.00 plus the rental car fee's that Land Rover stated that they would not cover, once again due to my negligence that was another $3000.00. Ive replaced the fuel pump, once again after the car stalled on me in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of the night, I was on call & had to get to the hospital & my job was jeopardized, due to patient abandonement. You can e-mail [email protected] we are trying to start a class action lawsuit. I think if we can convince the FTC that this car is a consumer nightmare & that its not safe to be driven we will get a better response. feel free to e-mail me [email protected] I am doing everything I can to get rid of the money pit, unreliable, POS, that LR has completely washed there hands of.

I just found Freeland 03 sux' email about the car - I was just told I need to replace my engine after having a coolant problem for the last year. I've taken it to the dealer twice in the last 1 1/2 months and clearly they never fixed the problem. And I was treated with the same disrespect - they want nothing to do with you and blame the owner of the car for not taking care of it properly. I realize I'm not alone - I would like to find a class action lawsuit to join here on the west coast. Someone needs to be responsible for this apparent defect that has left many people in a bad position!

At 35000 km .Today it joined the rest of the Freelanders in hell. This is an undeniable crime!
Landrover knows it too. They are having them crushed to get rid of the evidence. I suggest you may want to hand onto a piece ie key , something unique to that car...Not only our we the owners being screwed maybe something more would happen once the insurance companies that have put out huge amounts of money for useless new engines.
Here in Canada i'm checking into legal solutions.
Our f-ing hard worked for money back would be nice, not to mention the stress and financial hardship. We cannot let them continue to hide the obvious evidence.
Please keep posting
