My wife has a Freelander 2002. Recently we had some maintenance done and the battery was disconnected. The manual states if this happens the Taildoor glass needs to be recalibrated. I did everything exactly as the manual says. I even get the error beep. The manual states if the glass is not fully raised an error beep will sound, but it fully raises, the error beep sounds and drops right back down. I've disconnected the battery overnight hoping to erase the ecu and it still rolls up and comes right back down. I ve ready many post, but no solution to my probem. Most troubles are glass will not roll up or down. I have function just no recalibration. Any Ideas.

I have an 03 freelander, I have had every problem imagineable with this car. I thought I had just picked a lemon, but apparently there are alot of owners having the same exact problems. Land Rover North America, has treated me so poorly & basically blamed me for all of the problems I've had with my freelander. I urge any Freelander or Land Rover owner to contact & complain to the FTC. The Freelander is not a safe car, It has died on me going 70 MPH on the highway, I had no steering, no brakes, no control of anything. My brake lights went out & the switch was on recall, a recall that had been recalled twice. I called Land Rover N.A. thier response was "Drive your other car." I don't have another car, unfortunately. the next response was "Drive carefully!" Thanks alot, I always do. The back passenger side window dropped & shattered with my 2 yr old niece sitting next to it. The gear motor had twisted around itself & busted, they wanted $500 to fix it. I replaced the engine at 48,000 miles it was still under the original factory warranty. Land Rover squirmed there way out of that one, they stated that It was negligence on my part, improper care & maintenance. I had all of the paper work to prove that I had done everything according to thier maintenance schedule. They had my car for 6 months, I got a rebuilt engine and paid $6,500.00 plus the rental car fee's that Land Rover stated that they would not cover, once again due to my negligence that was another $3000.00. Ive replaced the fuel pump, once again after the car stalled on me in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of the night, I was on call & had to get to the hospital & my job was jeopardized, due to patient abandonement. You can e-mail landrover_lawsuit@hotmail.com we are trying to start a class action lawsuit. I think if we can convince the FTC that this car is a consumer nightmare & that its not safe to be driven we will get a better response. feel free to e-mail me pccdrive@yahoo.com. I am doing everything I can to get rid of the money pit, unreliable, POS, that LR has completely washed there hands of.
