Odor when turn on AC

Hi there,
Has anyone experience a 'pungent odor' when turning on their AC? I have used various anti-bacterial sprays to remove the smell, but it returns within 3-5 days. The dealer basically says there is nothing they can do about it, so I thought I would 'take it to the street'. I have a 2005 KIA Sedona, and other than this 'smelly' problem, the van runs wonderfully.

Yes, my wife has a 2002 KIA Sedona, and I think has a similar issue. She says the care has always smelled "funky" and you really notice it when the AC is on. In fact, while driving it, I've found myself turning off the recirculation switch on a hot day just to escape the odor.
Wierd. Saw your other post. Any luck with that tip about spraying inside the AC ducts with bleach?
