"Mobis, an affiliate of top South Korean auto maker Hyundai Motor Co (005380.KS) and Kia Motors Corp (000270.KS), plans to begin pilot production of the front- and rear-chassis modules at new facilities from February. The facilities will be built adjacent to the Chrysler plant.

these are pre assembled modules that come together already and that is not good as it takes away jobs for people on the line, it takes fewer people to assemble a car so how can that be good?

Good Things;
New construction going on in Detroit. Brings in building jobs.

Having this built adjacent to the plant means a little feeling of security for those Chrysler employees.

People in the community will have an opportunity to apply for some jobs. Better than no jobs at all.

These are my thoughts on how it can be a good thing.

It would be better if an American Co. would step up to the plate, I hate this "global" crap, seems like American workers get screwed every time.

Arvin Meritor had this contract and had built a plant on fort street in Detriot to supply modules for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee until Chrysler screwed them over. Arvin would have employeed only american workers. Don't trust Chrysler they have very little integrity.
