Jeep Wrangler CRD

I have a 2005 CRD Jeep Liberty. I think it is an awsome vehicle. I see the CRD Wranglers driven everyday over here in europe. It is a shame that we can't get a U.S. Spec Wrangler with the CRD engine. I will be ready to buy one if it ever comes out.
Question: Why is diesel fuel more expensive than gas in the USA?

I know that chrysler has started this whole "Get To Know The Customer" campaign, in which they claim that they are seriously going to go out and find out what the customer wants. "If the customer wants it, we will build it" - if they are ever going to make a diesel option for the wrangler, everyone concerned needs to find the point people on that campaign at Chrysler and make sure it is the dominant talking point. Once someone finds out who to contact at the company - post it here and on every Jeep blog you are connected to and let's make some noise.

I live in detroit and about 3 months ago i saw a wranger in a parking lot in troy. and on the back it said CRD and had a manfactor plate on it. and the body was the same as the new model and im guessing 09. glade to see it

I can't wait until the CRD Wrangler comes out in North America. I'm interested to see what the aftermarket will come out with and what options will be available compared to our AU and EU friends. I want one for my family daily driver... ah well back to waiting and building my Toy, Hemi powered Brute ;o) jeepincentral.com
