i keep hearing that the 2008 jeep wranglers and unlimiteds will off a optional v-8, can any one verify this? thanks!

Larry, would be nice. Though I think it's not likely to happen as the V8's don't seem to fair well in crash tests in the small chassis. I hope that changes. And Jeepingipb is right - this is an oooooold story, predating the '07 release.

thanks hdcs!you would think getting to the end of the model year we would be hearing some updates. chrysler must really be holding this close to the vest. i also have been hearing that they might also be offering a bio-diesal for either the four door unlimited and the 2 door.

Live in Detroit and a freind of mine has a buddy at the testing center. They are experimenting with a v-8 and even have put a hemi in one to try out. How nice would that be. Hopfully by 2009 they will have one.

kenny, thanks for the update! i did get a response from a chrysler rep saying that a hemi-v6,a v8 and possible bio-diesal "could" be in the future but not the near future. they stated that they felt the v6 was a good match for the wrangler/wrangler unlimited. i guess you have to belive them. thanks for every ones help on trying to clarify this.

Does anyone know if there are any new colors that will be available on the '08 Wranglers???? And when the '08s might get to the dealerships, or at the least the details of any updates since the '07 models?

gerald, i believe there to be no change in the color scheme for the wranglers.and diffenently no change in the power plant. the only reason i know this is that my wife and i will be ordering a 2008 wrangler unlimited sahara (because you can't find them on the car lots)and the sales person shared with us that color scheme will remain the same because we wanted one color thats only offered on the rubicons and the x's. but he said he will keep us posted. he also suggested we order our's in october.can't wait to drive my first jeep wrangler!!! keep on jeepin!

Conus, loosen up. I share his excitement. I recently ordered my Unlimited.
Question for those who have mods to there Jeep, what add on would you recommend for additional fuel efficiency and power? Air intake,borla exhaust etc?

2.8 diesel are already in used in UK for unlimited.

Any chance the 2008 2 door will have better sliders in the seats? One disappointment is that the 2007 2 doors are difficult to get into the back seat - much more difficult than the 2006 model

i don't know what i did to get a response from conus like that. i'll just chock it up as a low IQ on conus part.thanks for the response db cooper. db , check out www.airaid.com for air intake products. i have also have found after market products on powerblock tv's xtreme4x4 web sight.next time i'll try and curb my enthuseasum on becoming a jeep owner!

db,denny and patrick thanks for the support.i just wanted to get on these forms to discuss with other jeep wrangler owners their input/ideas, not get my balls busted!i didn't realise conus was going to turn it into a smack forum.like harley owners,(like myself) there seems to be a brotherhood among jeep owners.camp jeep looks like something to experience. i'll try and not let it curb my enthusiasm on becoming a jeep wrangler owner.if all jeep wrangler owners are like,db,denny and patrick then i welcome that brotherhood! thanks you guys!

to any/all concern: check out edmunds.com click on news and read the "insideline" on the SEMA (i not sure what that means)jeep unlimited rubicon diesal and a two door wrangler rubicon diesal. 230 horsepower,390 pound feet torque.

Anyone know when the 08's hit the dealerships? I was looking at ordering an 08 Rubicon and was told by the dealers it could take up to 6 months for delivery. Any truth to that?

I just ordered an 08 Sahara Unlimited on friday. The dealership said I should have it in 12 weeks as there is a bit of a backorder.

Thanks, Don. I just found an 07 Rubicon Unlimited with all the bells and whistles that I want. And I finally convinced my wife that its not the same color green as my bike. I'm going down tomorrow to pick it up.
